A Life Through Letters, chapter 1
Jaslina squinted as the light was on. She quickly closed her eyes, and screamed, "JORDYNNE!" Jordynne was her little sister, her stepsister to be exact. Jaslina rolled off the left side of her bed onto the hard as a rock floor. She stood up, with her eyes still closed and put her hands out as she started walking. She walked into what she thought was a door, and reached for the doorknob. There was no doorknob though, so she continued searching for the [i]real[i] door. Eventually she got outside of her room and decided to open her eyes. Jordynne, was standing there with the hugest grin, it was almost taking over her face. Jaslina just stared and her, rubbing her eyes, and then out of the blue, she yelled, "Why the hell did you turn on the lights?" Jordynne innocently said," It's fun. And I'm gonna tell mommy on you cause you said hell." Jaslina's respond was," Why would you tell on mom? You're supposed to tell on me. Besides you just said hell too." Jaslina went back into her room as her sister was galloping down the hallway into the kitchen. She turned on the radio and started dancing to some song she didn't even know the name of. When the unknown song was over, she got her red hoodie and a pair of jeans out of her closet and changed into them. She then brushed her teeth, combed her hair and tied it up. She turned off the light, screamed out, "I'm going!" got her keys and left.
JASLINA'S POINT OF VIEW
I walked into the Coffee Shop, yeah I know, a coffee shop shouldn't have been named 'The Coffee Shop'. Anyway, I walked inside expecting only a few of the seats to be occupied, just like the usual. Instead, it was packed with customers; it was actually a bit hard to breathe. I stayed in there even though I knew it would take a long time to get to order, but I wasn't willing to walk all the way to the other side of town to get a hot chocolate. I eventually decided as to which line to join, and a while later I was asking my friend Alix for my hot chocolate. I looked around the sitting area. There were only two free seats left. It was either the seat next to this lady who was talking to herself, or the guy with nice hair. So I approached the nice hair guy's table and asked if I could sit there. He said yes so I pulled out the chair and sat down. It felt a bit awkward since I wasn't used to having to sit with a stranger just to have a hot chocolate, so I just drank and stared at the table. The table looked shiny. I never noticed anything like that 'cause as I said, I wasn't used to this kinda thing. After staring at the most interesting table I've ever seen, I found myself saying something to the guy sitting in front of me, drinking his coffee.
"Yeah this is a bit awkward," I said.
"Haha. Yeah it is."
"I'm Jaslina." I put out my hand.
"Nice to meet you Jaslina. My name's Billie Joe," he said shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you too." I took another sip out of my cup, and swirled it around checking to see how much was left. I began to think about his name, Billie Joe... It sounded a bit familiar. I just couldn't remember why though.
