A Life Through Letters, chapter 2

JASLINA'S POINT OF VIEW

I woke up realizing I was thinking too hard about Billie Joe's name that I fell asleep with my head laying on the shiny table of The Coffee Shop. I looked up checking to see if he was still sitting in front of me... But he wasn't. Instead there was a napkin with the words, "See you around," and a happy face next to it. I don't really think it was written in pen. It looked a bit like melted chocolate or something. Well anyway, I looked at my watch, and noticed I had been asleep for 15 minutes. So I threw my cup into the garbage and walked home.

BILLIE JOE'S POINT OF VIEW

I was supposed to go with Mike and Tre, for breakfast, but their snoring kept me away from trying to get them out of bed. So I walked outside searching for a place to eat. I managed to find a place called The Coffee Shop, [what a horrible name] and went inside. It was pretty warm in there, considering there were a whole lot of people. But I really really needed to have some coffee, so I lined up and eventually got a cup, and a chocolate chip muffin. I sat down near the window, and stared outside. My mind was completely blank, other than the words, "This is some damn good coffee," running through my head. I continued to stare out the window until a girl came up to me and asked if she could sit, and of course I said yes.

Her name was Jaslina, a nice name. We didn't really have a conversation other than, "My name's Billie Joe," and "I'm Jaslina." I was probably boring her, a lot, 'cause her head was on the table in a few minutes, and I assumed she was sleeping. I finished my coffee and threw the cup away. I didn't know what to do, so I just took a napkin and wrote, "See you around," and drew a happy face with some chocolate, and left the napkin on the table. I felt a bit bad leaving her without saying a proper goodbye, but it was the best I could do without having to wake her up. I looked back at her head, on the table, and walked outside of the shop.

I walked back to the hotel room, to find Mike and Tre fighting over a can of coke. "Hey guys." They stopped for a moment to say hi back to me, and then continued fighting.
"Tre, you had a coke yesterday!"
"No, I had a Pepsi."
"Let go of the fucking can!"
"You let go!"

It went pretty much like that for about 5-10 minutes, while I just sat on the edge of the bed, watching Family Guy. I ended up being the one to stop the quarreling, by telling them to stop, and then taking the can, opening it, and drinking it. They both sat back down a bit angrily, and we all stared at the screen of the T. V.

JASLINA

I unlocked the door and sat down to watch T. V. Then I heard a knock on the door. I went over to see who it was, and of course, it was Alix. I assumed he escaped from work, like always. I opened the door as he came in.
"Hey Jas, wanna go bowling or something?"
"Bowling?"
"No, I didn't say bowling, I said run of a cliff," he said staring at me.
"Why bowling?"
"That's the one place nobody would expect me to be. Plus, I need to talk to you."
"About what?"
"I'll tell you when we get there. And stop asking me so many questions."
"Okay, I'll go... It's not like I have a life anyway."

Alix took me outside to his car and I went into the passenger's seat, while he went into the driver's. And we drove off into the sunset. Haha, we didn't drive off into the sunset, considering it was still morning, but continuing on. We spent a few minutes singing along to the radio, extremely loud, until I heard the car's tires skid, and I jerked forward a bit.
"Did we drive into something? Alix?"
"No idea."
I quickly swung the door open and got out. I went over to the front of the car, and there he was, on the road.
