A Life Through Letters, chapter 4
"Someone's tired," Billie Joe said.
"He snores loudly," Mike replied, "He must be tired from the fight we had over that coke. It seemed like he was using a lot of his power."
Tre's head was lying upon his arms on its side, on the table.
"I wonder how he can sleep so well in a place like this," Billie Joe thought aloud.
"I don't think we'll ever find out how he does."
"You guys up for some bowling, while we wait for them?"
"Holy!" Mike said turning around to find Tre awake, "When did you wake up?"
"Just now."
"Oh"
"So do you want to go bowling, or what?"
"Sure."
"I'll just watch you guys," Billie Joe said.
Mike and Tre got their bowling shoes on and headed towards alley number 6, where Billie Joe was already sitting.
"These shoes look like the ones I had in clown school," Tre said.
Mike was first up. He swung his arm back, and threw the bowling ball onto the floor.
"Fuck," he said watching it go into the gutter.
The kid in the next alley looked at him strangely.
"I mean... fudge."
He tried again, "Yes! I knocked over one pin!"
"Pssh. I can beat that," Tre said walking towards the alley, with a purple bowling ball. "Okay, maybe I can't," he said as he got closer towards the alley.
Tre took a swing. He felt the bowling ball slip off his fingers.
"That doesn't count."
"Jas?" Alix said as he walked over to Jaslina, "What's wrong?"
He looked into her watery eyes and found the direction of whatever she was staring at. He squinted to find that there was a tall, skinny man with messy hair and glasses, staring back at Jaslina.
"It's him isn't it."
