Hidden Lives (Edited and Cut), chapter 1
Melanie Carson walked down the street looking for a place to stay. Melanie was a very beautiful young woman; brunette had green eyes and was 5'4. She had just been kicked out of her Amish community for a reason she did not even know, though she had a feeling it had something to do with her mother. As she walked, she noticed people sleeping on and under benches and after a while figured it was her only option. She lay awake for hours listening to the noises of the city before drifting off to sleep.
When she woke up she saw a man standing over her and screamed.
"Shh, I'm sorry. Did I scare you?"
"Who are you?"
"Um, my name is Billie Joe. What's your name?"
"I am Melanie."
She looked up at him. He had beautiful green eyes, messy black hair and was very attractive.
"Ok. Well, Melanie. Why are you asleep on a bench? Are you home less?"
'Why did I ask that?' He thought to himself.
"I guess I kind of am homeless. I just got kicked out last night." She sighed.
He studied her features. Her face was pale and perfectly outlined by her hair, her lips were plump and heart shaped and her nose was perfectly centered. He looked down (he's a man give him a break), she had a very nice curves. And yet, her eyes were sad. He looked back up and couldn't help feel sorry for her.
"You could stay with me. I mean, I have a couple room mates but I don't think they would mind."
She smiled a bit,
"Really?"
"Yeah, I mean, you have no where else to go. Do you?"
"No, not really."
"Exactly."
She was thinking about hugging him when she felt something poke her in the middle of her back.
"Don't move. Put your hands in the air." Said a harsh voice.
She obeyed immediately and shut her eyes tightly.
"Tre, you asshole!" Billie yelled, "You scared the fuck out of her. Melanie, it's ok. He's just my friend."
She opened her eyes and turned around to see a man with gold-brown hair and blue eyes.
"Melanie, this is Tre. Tre, this is Melanie." Billie said quickly.
"Hi." Said Tre, hiccoughing.
"Hello." Replied Melanie.
"My other friend Mike ain't here right now but I can introduce him later."
Tre stared confused, "Doesn't she know... " But Billie quickly cut him off, "So do you want to go do something?" He asked Melanie before leaning over to Tre, "She doesn't know." He whispered. Tre nodded and turned back to Melanie.
"Let's go get some food."
"Yeah." Agreed Billie, draping his arm over Melanie's shoulders.
They walked down the street and into a coffee shop.
"So, Melanie. Where are you from any ways?" Billie asked while taking a sip of his coffee.
"I am from an Amish community. I got kicked out though." She replied, looking down into her drink.
"Why?" He inquired further.
"Well, I don't really know. I just kind of was." She sobbed a bit, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be. You didn't do anything wrong." He smiled.
She lifted her head to look at him and he hugged her. Her heart skipped a beat. No one had ever embraced her that wasn't her family. He let go and looked at her. "It'll be ok, Melanie. You will come stay with us until you can find a job and stuff." You smiled, "Thank you, Billie Joe."
After that they all went to the mall to buy Melanie some more modern clothes. Tre put on a dress at Mariposa and looked under a change room stall. He was kicked out and had to wait outside. There was nothing else to do so they went back to Billie Joe's apartment and hung out until Tre went into the kitchen and brought out a bottle of liquid.
