Forever Greener, chapter 7
Steph wait up, don’t walk so fast’, Billie cried as Steph slammed her way up the path to the front door.
‘No Billie-Joe, there’s nothing more for me to say to you. Or as a matter of fact, you to say to me’, she continued. They had been arguing like this the whole way home.
‘Please Stephie, just talk to me’, he said slurring his words.
‘No Billie, listen, I don’t wanna talk to you. At the moment I don’t even wanna see you’, she screamed at him before forcing her way though the door and hurrying off to her room.
Sarah followed him up to the front door. She placed her hands on him gently.
‘See, you deserve better. She doesn’t love you’, Sarah whispered to him, trying to fill his head up with ideas.
‘No she did love me until you came alone’, he said, forcing her off of him and walking inside to Steph’s door. He knocked, pleading to be let him.
‘No Billie, just leave me alone’, Steph screamed back.
‘Please, I want to talk to you’, he screamed back.
‘Billie just go please’.
‘Just let me talk to you first’.
‘No, I don’t want to talk to you’.
‘But its not what it looked like’.
‘Not what it looked like, you two were kissing. She was all over you’.
‘No really please just let me talk to you’.
Steph didn’t reply. Billie tried to force the door open, but Steph had locked it from the inside. Eventually he gave up and walked to him room. Sarah was waiting there for him. He came in and she put her arms around him, pretending to comfort him.
‘Just get away from me’, he said pushing her off of him.
‘Why what have I don’t wrong?’, she asked outraged. She knew she wasn’t going to get her way and she was furious about it.
‘Cos, you’ve just ruined everything I had going for me’, he said before he laid down on his bed.
‘What between you and Steph. Who cares about her, seriously?’, Sarah continued.
‘I do. I care about her. I love her and now she thinks something’s going on between me and you and she’s never going to forgive me for this’, said holding he’s tears back.
‘But I thought maybe…’, Sarah said in shock.
‘Sarah just leave’, Billie said seriously. Sarah knew she had messed everything up. She walked out of Billie’s room and out of the house. As she did, Tre and Mike walked in.
‘I’ll go talk to Billie. You talk to Steph’, Tre said as the two friends split. Mike started to knock on Steph’s door and was eventually let in. Tre walked into Billie’s room, to see his friend on the bed in a heart broken state.
‘Billie, man. I’m sorry’, Tre said sympathetically getting a chair out and pulling it closer to the bed.
‘Its alright Tre. You had nothing to do with it’, Billie said as tears slowly started to come out. ‘I just didn’t think anything like this would happen. She probably hates me now’, he continued.
‘Oh I wouldn’t say that. She’s probably just in shock cos of what she saw’, Tre said.
‘But she shouldn’t of seen it, it shouldn’t have happened’, Billie said, letting some tears out in between.
‘Mate, relax. I can tell you right now, she not having second thoughts about not liking you. You’re the only thing she ever talks about. She’s in-love with you. Yeah you might get silent treatment for a few days but then, you two will be fine after that’, Tre said supporting.
‘I hope your right Tre. I hope your right’, Billie said softly, thinking about how Mike was going talking to Steph on the other side of the house.
‘I don’t believe he would do that, and with my sister!’, Steph let out in hysterics.
‘Steph he was drugged, just relax for a minute’, Mike said.
‘How can i?’, Steph screamed again.
‘Just relax’, Mike said calming her down. Eventually she gave up screaming and sat on the bed in Mike’s arms. Tears were streaming out and she was sniffling every so often.
‘Looks everything’s going to be fine. He doesn’t like her. He’s in-love with you’, Mike told her, coaxing her slowly to relax and settle down.
‘Mike, I wish I could believe you, but she was all over him’, Steph continued still crying.
‘Listen, he loves you. He wouldn’t do something like that on purpose. He was drugged as well, and come on, why with your sister?’, Mike said, comforting her again as Steph started slowly to stop crying.
‘Yeah, just…no its alright’, She continued ‘Can we go speak in the lounge?’.
Mike stood her up, and they walked into the lounge. Billie and Tre were in there already, Steph rolled her eyes and turned around, but Mike pushed her forward and forced her to sit down.
Tre got up and stood next to Mike.
‘So are you two going to sort this out?’, Mike asked looking at both of them….
