Never, ever, ever had the world stood so still. She could feel the people moving but all she saw was him. She could only hear her own heart beating frantically and then that voice, that beautiful passionate voice, that sung out to her, and only her, that night. Never ahd the world been so beautiful, or her heart so fulled with bliss. Never had.....
" Good aren't they?" Bess suddenly roared in her ear. She snapped back to reality.
"Um... yeah.. they're really good." Tina answered nervously.
" Specally that lead singer is sexy, eh?" Bess said with a cheeky grin.
"Um...well...." Tina stuttered.
"Come on!! Don't be so shy!! They've finished playing now, Steve can introduce us and you can talk to the cute lead singer!"
"I really don't think that's a good...."
"Come ON!!" Bess screamed and dragged Tina towards the tall, bearded man next to the stage, her boyfriend called Steve. Tina was feeling really nervous..
"Hey," Steve said and kissed Bess on the cheek, " You enjoying yourselves?"
" Oh yeah," Bess giggled, " Actually we were wondering if you could introduce us to...um... what were they called?"
" Green Day," Tina whispered staring stubbornly at her battered black converse."
"Oh, right," Steve said "Follow me".
Tina's whole body was shakng. There he stood, so beautiful, so....cool. She was bluching madly thinking about her feelings when she saw him play and couldn't bare to meet those peircing green eyes. Billie Joe, as she found out he was called, was casually leaned against a wall, beer in hand, and didn't even seem to notice she was there. The other band members, Tina thought they were called Mike and Tre something, were slumped on a couch giggling along with Bess.
It was now or never. She HAD to talk to him, otheriwise NOTHING would happen. Tina took a deep breath and stuttered
" Um... y-you were um really well good"
"Thanks," said Billie Joe, barely glancing at her. " I guess it went okay"
"Oh it was more than oay, " Tina said, trying to start conversation, " it was so fantastic! When you sang that song, Disappearing Boy, well ti was..um... great."
" You think?" Billie said, looking up. "Well if you liked it so much you can come along tomorrow night as well. We're playing at Gilman's."
"Oh...oh..ok," tina couldn't believe it! He had invited her to see them play! She felt ready to faint.
" Ok well see you then," Billie said and turned, and walked off.
Tina stared after him, and her heart was beating with the feeling that she would see him again.
