Nobody Is Perfect, chapter 3
Brad arrived about an hour later with a couple of bags and a lunch sack. He kept his promise and didn't tell any other person about what he and his friend had planned. Brad's mother and father were out at work so they had no idea that their precious son was leaving them for good and only at 15. They cared so much for him and once they'd find out he left, they'd probably have a heart attack and call the police right after, but neither Jesus of Suburbia nor Brad cared. They just wanted to get out of that small and gloomy town that they called home.
The three friends sat in Whatsername's room, not saying a thing to one another. Brad ate his food while Jesus of Suburbia and Whatsername shared the occasional 'I'm angry with you' kind of glances.
"Do you still not want to go?" asked Jesus of Suburbia.
"Yeah, I don't want to go," said Whatsername.
"What? You aren't going? Why not? It'll be fun!" shouted Brad as a little piece of tomato fell out of his mouth.
"I'm not going, Brad, because it won't be fun, it'll be stupid and meaningless. I still don't even understand why you're going."
"No! It will be fun Brad. Whatsername is just jealous that we're going to have fun in a cool way while she stays here, doing homework and reading books, her kind of fun," Jesus of Suburbia corrected.
"Oh will you stop it! At least I plan on doing something with my life instead of you two. It's all stupid!" shouted Whatsername.
The three fell silent again.

The next day rolled around and it was planned that Brad and Jesus of Suburbia were going to leave.
Brad was in the corner of the room with his bag while Jesus of Suburbia grabbed anything they might need out of Whatsername's refrigerator as she and her parents were asleep. Coming back to the room with his arms full of anything that didn't have to be refrigerated, Jesus of Suburbia handed Brad half of the food to stuff in his bag not knowing, of course, that he would drop most of it. The package of cookies fell to the floor making a loud cracking sound. Whatsername shot herself up out of her bed and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. When she looked over to a nervously smiling Brad and Jesus of Suburbia, she rolled her eyes and walked out of her room and into the kitchen. Brad sighed and looked back over at his friend who continued to pack the food into his bag.
"Are you sure we should do this? I mean, we're only 15, we don't have jobs or even a car and we certainly don't have enough money for a house or an apartment. What are we going to do in the city?" asked Brad nervously. The thought of leaving home was just now getting to him. He'd only have Jesus of Suburbia, the food that would probably last them a week or so and on top of that, they had no home or any money.
"Exactly what you said. Get a job, buy a car and a house and anything else we might need. It won't be that bad. We just need to get used to the life out there... that's all," replied Jesus Of Suburbia.
Brad nodded and walked out of the room and into the kitchen where Whatsername was. She was sitting at the table, eating a pop tart and drinking a glass of milk with tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" asked Brad as he sat down in the chair next to her.
"You guys are leaving!" she whined.
"I don't want to but if I don't then Jesus of Suburbia will do something like... beat me up or whatever. I guess I'm just scared. The offer is still on the table if you want to come with us."
She thought for a minute and wiped her tearstained eyes.
"I don't have anything packed though and where are we going to school?"
"Pack fast and I am definitely not going back to school ever again."
"Why not? You can't get a good job without a good education."
"Who said I wanted one of those?"
"It would help you. That's all I'm saying."
Brad nodded and looked over at her last pop tart.
"You gonna eat that?" he asked, gesturing to her food.
"No, you can have it. I'm going to pack."
"You're coming with us?!" shouted Brad.
"Shh! Yes! I'm coming with you. Now hurry. We don't have much time to catch the bus into Vegas," whispered Whatsername.
Brad smiled and finished eating the pop tart.
It turned out that when Jesus of Suburbia and Brad fell asleep in Whatsername's room, she went on her computer, looking for a bus that was headed into the city and at what time. Now, it doesn't sound like something she would do. That's probably what you're all thinking right now. She wanted to go because her only two friends were leaving her, she was at the age where the thought of leaving the house was being considered, and she'd most likely be able to go to school.
Rushing back to her room, Whatsername quietly shut the door and started to get dressed for the day as well as pack for the trip. She grabbed an orange backpack from her closet and quickly stuffed it full of clothes and books.
