We Are The Kids Of War And Peace, chapter 5
"Mom, I don't wanna go back tomorrow", Jared cried hugging his mothers leg all the way to the car.
"Jared what was so wrong about it?", she asked him not getting an answer before. He shook his head and cried harder. Pippet picked him up and wiped his eyes.
"Jared, it's going to be alright, I promise we'll go home and talk to dad about it alright", Pippet told him. He shook his head and cried a little harder resting his head on his mothers shoulder.
"Mom, dad's just gonna say 'Jared grow up' and then he'll send me back", Jared told her crying even more. She rubbed his back and held him close.
"If he does I'll talk to him alright?", she said making sure Jared heard. He nodded and hugged his mothers neck gently sniffling.
"Wuv you mom", he get in a mumble before he fell asleep against his mother and was taken home.
"Pippet, he's making it up".
"Billie Joe he was bawling his eyes out".
"I still think its fake".
"Billie he's a good kid, he wouldn't lie about being bullied".
"Its probably cos he cant let go".
"Billie, he's capable to take care of himself, he got bullied. I know you hated high school when you got picked on. Imagine what its like for him", Pippet said getting defensive. Billie Joe shook his head.
"That was high school", he let out clenching his fists and putting them on the table.
"Yeah, for you high school. I can tell you right now if it wasn't for Mike I wouldn't have made it past primary alive, because of what I was put through", she explained. Billie shook his head.
"Okay, so if he is getting picked on, it's alright. It builds character and he is a little timid", Billie mumbled.
"He's not timid, he's just careful of where he treads and you're the same", she told him.
"I am not", Billie told her defensively.
"Billie Joe you are, you let so many people push you around", she told him.
"I don't", he said starting to raise his voice.
"Don't you start raising your voice at me Billie Joe", she said telling him off. He nodded and sat down.
"Billie you should have seen him, he was crying so hard. He cried more then your mother did on your wedding day", she explained. Billie thought. That would be a lot of tears for a little boy.
"Okay, okay so he's a little emotional", Billie let out. Pippet looked at him and sighed.
"Billie he doesn't like it. He's too young for it and you know that. He's not even four years old yet and everyone there is almost 5", she told him sitting in his lap, "Please, just pull my baby out, I don't want him getting hurt". Billie wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead.
"Okay, I'll pull him out, but next year he goes".
"To the one he wants to go to".
"Fine, as long as he goes". Pippet turned and kissed Billie Joe gently getting up.
"Where you going?", he asked her liking the affection.
"Bed", she told him taking her hair out of its tie. He smiled and got up.
"Okay, I'll go see Jared and then come to bed", he told her kissing her again.
"Good night Billie Joe", she mumbled sleepy before walking off to bed.
Billie walked up to Jared room and crept in taking a look at his son. There were tears running from his eyes. He had cried himself to sleep. Billie ruffled his hair gently and tucked him in a little creeping out and crawling into bed with Pippet.
-THE NEXT DAY-
"Mommy, it's stirred enough", Jared told Pippet licking the spoon from the mixture. Pippet started putting it into the cupcake patties.
"Jared go open the oven door for me", Pippet told him. He jumped down from the table and opened it feeling the warmth against his face.
"It's toasty", he let out smiling. Pippet put the trays in there and smiled picking him up.
"Come on little man", she said picking him up. He wiped some chocolate batter from his mouth and kissed his mothers cheek.
"You think dad will like them?", he asked her. She smiled.
"Course he will", she smiled walking him over to the sink to wash his hands. Billie Joe had been watching them and smiled a little. Jared was so cute. He couldn't believe he had wanted to push his son into going to that awful place again.
"Hey you two", he said walking in making it look as if he hadent been watching them for the last 10 minutes. Jared looked up and smiled.
"HEY DAD!", he let out enthusiastically. Billie smiled and cuddled him seeing himself in Jared once again.
"Look Daddy...Mommy's getting fat", he said poking his mothers stomach. Billie giggled as Pippet mouth dropped open.
"And its your daddy's fault", Pippet said smiling.
"Really?", Jared playfully hit Billie, "Bad daddy". Billie giggled and kissed Pippet getting a kiss back.
"Eww, get a room", Jared told them. They looked at each other.
"What Uncle Tre say's it all the time", he explained to them, jumping down from his dad's arms and running out of the kitchen. Billie hugged Pippet as she started to pack up the dish-washer.
"We've got a school reunion coming up", he told her. She smiled.
"You don't think I'm going to it do you?", she asked. He pouted.
"But I wanted to show you off", he told her kissing her neck. She closed her eyes and rolled her head to the side.
"Billie", she said smelling his sent.
"Yeah babe?", he asked continuing to kiss her.
"Are you still doing pot?", she asked turning to look at him. He looked away.
"No", he said sharply, looking away. She looked into his eyes.
"I thought we agreed after getting married to stop because of Jared", she told him. He looked up at the ceiling.
"But its been so hard", he let out. She let out a disappointed gasp.
"It was hard for me too Billie Joe", she told him, hearing his phone go off. She pulled it out of his pocket and answered.
"Hello?".
"Oh Hi Tony".
"Yes sure I'll get Billie Joe for you", she said pushing it into his chest, "You promised me Billie Joe", she said walking out letting Billie talk to his dealer.
"Is something wrong?", Tony asked.
"No you just called at a bad time", Billie told him wondering why he had to have this happen to him...
