We Are The Kids Of War And Peace, chapter 7
"Pippet please just wait".
"No Billie Joe", Pippet forced out slamming the front door before he had a chance to get inside. He pushed with both palms on the door and then dropped them to his sides.
"Pippet, please we have to talk about this", he told her repetitively. Pippet stood with her back to the door and slid down until she was on the ground hugging her legs. Tears slowly came out of her eyes but no one was here to see so it didn't matter. She could be as emotional as she wanted.
"Babe, please let me in", Billie asked again from outside seeing the others drive up, "Princess please let me in".
Pippet didn't respond. She kept herself against the door blocking possible entry. Billie rested his forehead against the door and closed his eyes. It was a stupid idea to have kissed Nina, and ever more stupid to think Pippet wouldn't have caught them or found out.
"Pip, please we really need to talk".
"About what?", she replied from the other side, "That you're a cheat. That you just do whatever you want when it suits you no matter how many people you hurt along the way?". Billie took a deep breath in and sighed.
"Pippet, I didn't mean it in that way", he told her. The door opened just enough for her to see him.
"Then how did you mean it Billie Joe? Were you planning to keep this a secret from me as well?", she asked. He looked into her eyes and shook his head.
"I don't know what came over me", he said truthfully, "I didn't think you'd take it to heart".
"Well you know me well enough to be quite protective of you Billie Joe", she explained to him, "And you know me well enough to know how I react to you around other women".
"Pippet, let me in please?", he asked her holding the side of the door open. She looked at him with seriousness in her eyes before forcing the door closed again.
Billie Joe placed his hands on his hips. This situation was far more worse then just a high school kiss and fling. He hadn't seen Pippet this serious before about a kiss. Then again come to think of it, it was a kiss with Nina. Billie walked around to the side of the house where the bedroom window was.
"PIPPET...PIPPET", he screamed trying to get her attention. The girl came to the window and looked out not impressed by his response to all of this.
"Honey please, you have to understand its just a guy thing", he told her, "We try to impress each other, even if it means doing things we usually wouldn't do", he explained.
"And it means, going behind your wife's back as well huh?", she asked hanging half out the window. Billie shook his head.
"Pippet you're taking this the wrong way", he told her. Those words only seemed to get her more and more angry.
"Pip, please just do something for me", he asked her watching her walk away from the window, "Think of Jared", he started. Pippet paused and thought of her son.
"He's a symbol of our love for one another. Our wedding rings, they're the same thing. Even if we didn't have Jared and we weren't married, I wouldn't see you any different and I'd still love you the way I love you now", he told her starting to get expressive. Pippet closed her eyes starting to hear Billie singing softly;
"Cos I can not speak, I've lost my voice. I'm speechless and redundant...cause I love you is not enough, I'm lost for words"...
Then all of a sudden Billie Joe felt arms wrap around his waist. He looked up. The bedroom light was still on.
'This cant be good'...he told himself...
