We Are The Kids Of War And Peace, chapter 8

"You shouldn't", Billie mumbled out wanting to shut his eyes.
"Shouldn't what?", the voice said. It was Pippet what was she doing down here. The girl quickly slid her hands into Billie Joe's pockets and searched around pulling out his keys.
"Pippet we have to talk", he told her turning around to look at her.
"There's nothing to talk about Billie Joe", she told him starting to walk off.
"Pippet no, please just wait", he called out chasing after her.
"Come on Jared", she said taking her son's hand.
"But Mommy, daddy's calling you", he said turning around to catch a final glimpse of his father before the door shut.

Billie Joe took a seat on the house porch stairs and held his head in his hands. He couldn't believe it. He was going to lose the two people he cared about most over a stupid kiss, and why? So he could impress a few old mates.
"Billie you alright?", he heard a voice ask him.
'Oh please, no', he said recognizing the voice. It was Mike. Billie knew exactly what could happen if Mike found out about what was going on. The exact same thing that happened a few days after the formal night.
"Hi Mike", he mumbled out. Mike took a seat next to him while Katty made her way into the house.
"You wanna tell me what's wrong?", Mike asked. Within a few seconds all of Billie Joe's emotions and feelings came pouring out.

"And then she just walked inside with Jared", he finished off crying into Mike. The taller man rubbed his friends back trying to calm him down.
"Billie its fine, she gets like this, but its cool, she'll get over it, just give her the night", Mike explained. They heard some foot-steps behind them.
"Billie I think there's something you should see", Katty said in a sombre tone.
Billie Joe got up and followed Katty up to the bedroom.
"Is it something dire?", he asked. She didn't reply.
"You go see for yourself", she told him walking away with Mike.
"Is he going to be okay?", Mike asked Katty. She nodded.
"Just give them space Michael", she told him sitting down in the lounge room together.

Billie walked into his bedroom slowly. The TV was still on. That was a good sign. He walked further into the room taking his jacket off and closing the door. He smiled looking at the bed. Pippet and Jared lay there cuddle up to each other still in their evening wear. He smiled again and walked over to the bed to check on them. They were both sound asleep. He got the spare blankets from the cupboard and draped them over the two trying not to wake them.
He sat at the end of the bed looking over them. He hadn't just hurt his relationship but everything else he cared about. He wiped the ears from Pippet's eyes before he got into bed with them hoping that in the morning everything would be sorted out.

-THE NEXT MORNING-

The trio were woken up by giggling and laughter coming up the stairs. Billie Joe rubbed his eyes before realizing his arms were wrapped around his wife. He tried to move them but woke her up in the mean while.
"Billie Joe", she mumbled. He looked over her. She kept her eyes shut and cuddled up into him.
'WTF?', he thought to himself. Only yesterday she was about to break off a relationship and now she was all close and cuddly. There was something wrong with this. He waited for another reaction but nothing came. He slowly moved back having the girl crawl along with him.
"Billie don't go", she muttered keeping her eyes shut.
"Pippet whats wrong?", he asked her.
"Don't go".
"Whats wrong?".
"Don't leave me. Please don't leave me".
"Babe I wont", he told her hugging her closely in her sleep. She seemed to peaceful and relaxed in his arms. He kissed her forehead before he saw Jared waking up.

"DAD!", he announced taking a seat in his fathers lap. He squeezed in-between his mother and father and closed his eyes hugging him.
"I missed you last night dad", he whispered wiping his eyes.
"I didn't go anywhere kiddo", he told him ruffling his hair.
"Are you and mommy fighting?".
"I don't know".
"Do you still love mommy".
"Of course I do".
"Does she love you?".
"I hope so".
"Are we going to be a family forever?". Billie stopped for a minute trying to pick the best words to reply to his son.

"Jared, for as long as you believe forever is", he told him getting another hug.
"Billie Joe I...", Pippet managed to mumble. He asked her to repeat herself.
"I love...", she whispered. He wondered exactly what he was going to hear from her. He reached over to the bedside table to get her the glass of water that was usually there and being as clumsy as he is managed to spill it into the top draw. He asked Jared to run down to get him a towel before he started to take items from the draw out. That's when he found something. He looked back at his wife. She was sound asleep on the bed. He picked up the package. Was it what he thought it was. Speed! What the hell was Pippet doing with speed? He shook her gently.
"Pippet we need to talk", he told her. She opened an eye and saw what he was holding.
"SO NOW YOU'RE GOING THROUGH MY STUFF?", she questioned him getting up.
"It's not like that", he explained. She turned around and attempted to walk out of the bedroom. Billie took a hold of her wrist and pulled her towards him.

"You tell me off for a little pot and I find speed in your draws", he questioned her. She rolled her eyes.
"BJ it's not mine, you know perfectly well its Michaels", she told him. Billie knew she was right. Mike still had his shots ever so often.
"Whats wrong with you? I haven't done anything wrong to you", he told her, 'What's with the attitude?".
"Oh haven't done anything wrong? You've only kept stuff away from me and kissed like my high school enemy", she said drastically, "What kind of relationship is that BJ?".
"What do you mean? I give and give and give to this relationship and all I have in return is questioning. Why cant you trust me?", he asked her.
"You give?", she asked smiling half heartedly, "You mean you cheat and lie".
"I don't want to go into this Pippet", he told her outright.
"You brought it upon yourself", she told him truthfully.

"No the only thing I brought upon myself was the idea that I might not love you anymore"...
