The Means Of Pain Thats In My Heart, chapter 1
I lay in my bed, staring at the walls plastered with posters. I'm listening to Tired of Waiting by Green Day. I swear, they're the only thing on this world keeping me sane. They're my most favourite band on this planet. In this universe!
My names Kairi and I'm not your average 17 year old girl. I have black, shoulder length hair, with red and bright green streaks. I'm about 5'8 tall and I have bright blue eyes, outlined with black eyeliner. When I'm at home, I spend most of my time in my bedroom, listening to music and writing songs. My room has my drum kit, my guitar, a T. V, computer and stereo. Yes, I play drums and guitar. I can also sing. I've been playing drums for about 3 years, and have been playing guitar for 4 years. I hope to one day follow in the footsteps of my heroes, Green Day, and to be known for my music. I'm in a band, we're called Untitled. It consists of Alex, on Bass (she's a girl), me on guitar and vocals, and my best friend, Logan, on drums. We all love Green Day and we play punk rock.
Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, I'm laying in my bed listening to Green Day. I peer at my phone. I'm waiting for my boyfriend, Mark, to call. He promised he would call. My parents don't like me seeing him. They say that they've heard stories about him abusing his previous girlfriends. I don't believe it. Even though sometimes he likes to be controlling, I wouldn't call it 'abusive'.
After minutes of staring at the phone, it rings. I answer it.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Hey Kai, what's up?" he says.
"Nothing, I was just waiting for you to call" I replied.
"Well I'm here now aren't I? Did you get the Green Day tickets?" he asked. They're coming to play in Melbourne, which is where I live.
"Uh no-" he cut me off.
"What do you mean NO? You were supposed to get them YOU SILLY BITCH!" he shouted, nearly deafening me.
"No, they're on sale tomorrow..." I said he'sitantly.
"You better not be lying... Oh yeah, the newspaper says tomorrow. You're lucky this time. Next time tell me!" he exclaimed.
"I tried to." I said.
"Don't contradict me!" he exclaims.
"I'm sorry; I'm not trying to contradict you." I said "Look, tomorrow my family's going out. Do you want to come over?" I asked.
"Ok" he sighed. As if it's a chore to have to see me.
"Ok good. I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." I said.
"Yep ok" he said and he hung up. He never says bye, just 'yep, ok'. Oh well, that's Mark for you.
I decide to go to sleep. I turn off my stereo and stare at my Green Day posters.
"I can't wait to see you... My heroes." I whisper, and then I drift off to sleep.
