So When the Smoke Clears, Here I am, chapter 1
***Callie's P.O.V.***
I walked down the road slowly and sadly towards school. Every morning, same thing: "Don't wear those clothes!", "I don't like that eye-liner on you!", "No Super Nintendo for a week!". God. Was that all mom did? Luckely, I had just thrown the clothes I wanted to wear and some make-up supplies into my bag. Ha! Try and stop me! I thought. I began to move my thoughts to medevil weapons and meathods of torture. It made me a little bit happier.
Too wrapped up in horrible deeds, I didn't notice the person behind me until they heeled me, taking off half of my shoe, and almost ran me over. I spun around,
"Are you trying to kill me!?!" I asked, in that high pitched voice that I used when yelling at someone.
The boy behind me seemed rather startled by my reaction and I think I almost gave him a heart attack. He just raised his eyebrows in surprise for a few minutes before recovering his speech
***Mike's P.O.V.***
Walking towards school. Time for another fun-filled day of learning, I thought sadly. I checked my watch, Crap! I'm gonna be late! I sped up until a depressed looking girl in a pink shirt was walking slowly in my way. I tried to go behind her but I accidentally heeled the back of her shoe. oopsie...
She whirled around, scaring the living shit out of me. She started to screech at me in this blood curtling yell and I was momentarily paralyzed from the initial effect. I came back to life and noticed that she was sternly glaring at me.
"Sorry," I said softly, bracing for more impact.
She returned her eyes to normal. Thank God, her eyebrows were starting to freak me out.
"Hi," I breathed, shifting my eyes, "I'm, uh, Mike."
She just looked at me, then smirked a little. "Callie," she said, dropping back next to me. Wow. Girls NEVER walk with me. GO ME! I MADE A FRIEND WITH A GIRL!
We talked all the way to school about mostly random topics: soup, noodles, textbooks, parents and their suckish manuevers, everything.
As we reached the front of the school, I realized that if I wanted her to be my friend, I'd have to compare scheduals.
"What are your classes, then?" I asked her.
She gave me her schedual and I gave her mine.
We had the same lunch period and homeroom, hooray! I've got a chance!
Entering the school, I bid her farewell as she walked towards her locker in the opposite direction.
"See you in homeroom, Mike!" She called over her shoulder.
"Until then!" I replied, continuing to walk.
I smiled to myself. whoopie! I made friends with a girl!
