And We Find Ourselves In The Same Old Mess, chapter 1

She jumped around the crowd energetically. The boys on the near by sofa could do nothing but sit and stare. Another night, another band, another houseparty, and tomorrow, another hangover. That was the life of Rodeo's local hero, Lexi. Highschool dropout/underaged alcoholic/burnout/waitress-by-day-partier-by-night.
At the tender age of 14, Lexi just gave up on a future, and well did everything she could to fuck the rest up. Now, 17, she finds herself, once again, singing drunken lullabies.
Billie Joe just sat there and stared in amazement, granted he was fried. The way she moved, the way her body looked as if it was meant to move like that. He was in a trance. Mike waved his hand infront of his open-mouthed friend. Billie Joe's head turned to Mike.
"Isn't she... georgeous."
"What?" asked Mike.
"She... uh.. what?" said Billie Joe slightly confused, already he had forgotten what he was saying.
Mike just laughed. Then Lexi caught his eye. He cocked his head slightly. He had seen her before, not quite sure where, but he knew he had.
Lexi thrashed around as the band's tempo sped up. She was having the time of her life. She looked over at the couch, and saw two young guys staring at her. She knew them from somewhere... Oh god... they were regulars at the cafe she worked at. It was known as "hangover from hell" because either the staff were hungover or it was filled with hungover underaged teens. She turned her head slightly so her long brown hair would fall over her face. She continued to dance.
People started to leave the party, Lexi just flopped down on the mattress lying behind the now abandoned drum kit. She just layed their staring at the roof, the owner of the house didn't care if she spended the night, no one in Rodeo cared if Lexi passed out in their basement, it really did make an awesome morning after story, to see her hungover.
Lexi felt someone lay beside her. She turned her head, it was one of the guys from the couch. He just lay there staring at the roof, like she did a minute ago.
"umm.. hi?" said Lexi, slightly sobering up.
"Hey." grunted Billie Joe, he was burning out.
They just layed there for a moment, listening to each others breathing. Neither dared to speak, for some reason Lexi felt comfortable with him lying beside her. She felt as if she could trust him. She felt as if for some reason he was different.
Billie Joe had never felt so happy while burning out. There was something about this girl, she trusted him. She was beautiful. She was...
They both simultaneously past out. Their sleep was deep, and they didn't rise until late noon, when Billie Joe was shooken awake. The commotion made Lexi shoot straight up. Oh God. The sun was bright, her head throbbed, and she was beside a guy who she didn't know who was being awoken by another guy. The room around her was completly trashed, wow, it must of been one hell of a party last night, she thought to herself.
"Who the hell are you?" she said turning her head towards the two men.
Both looked up, they didn't even see her get up.
"Billie Joe" he slurred, still half asleep.
"Mike... who are you?"
"Uh... Lexi."
"Hey, I know you from somewhere don't I?" aked Mike.
"Uh, no, well I better be off." said Lexi, getting up and practically running out of the house.
She stumbled into work around four. Black thick sunglasses covered her eyes, and her hood was over her head.
"Long night?" Joked her supervisor, Caitlin.
"You have no idea, well neither do I!" laughed Lexi.
She took off her sweater, revealing her white t-shirt, she tied her apron around her waist and put her hair up in a messy ponytail. She grabbed a note pad and headed out from the back room, and into the lobby. All the tables were filled, Lexi vaguely recognized some of the faces from the night before. Her co worker Courtney, passed by and muttered:
"Nice of you to show up." and shot a sly smile.
Lexi smiled and shook her head, she loved Courtney. Courtney was one of those girls, every second comment was sarcastic. She made Lexi laugh. Which is quite an accomplishment considering that Lexi was hungover 10 hours a day.
She looked around, to see what tables she would take, two people sat in the corner. It was Billie Joe and ... what was his name... Mike... I think... she thought to herself.
She walked directly to the table on the opposite side of the room. Black coffee.. latte... no milk? ok then... I wonder if they're looking at me... double chocolate cake...
"Hey look at the ass on that one." said Billie Joe.
"Niiiice." said Mike.
They're favorite game to play while hung over, objectifying women.
"Holy shit." gasped Billie Joe.
"What?" said Mike turning his head in the direction that Billie Joe was looking. His jaw dropped. It was the girl from the party, that's where he saw her before, she was the waitress from the hangover from hell.
"I knew I saw her somewhere before. Funny how different someone looks with an apron on..."
How had he missed her before? Billie Joe contemplated how to talk to her. He remembered the sense of comfort around her that he had while he was burning out, how they just layed there listening to each other breath, a drunk and a burnout.
She looked over. Billie Joe was still staring. He waved slightly shyly, just incase she was looking at someone else, he didn't want to make an idiot of himself. She walked over.
"What can I get for you boys?"
