Queen of the 40 Thieves, chapter 1
They were just in the middle of a class, but she just couldn't take it anymore, so she ran as fast as she could from the classroom to the restrooms. She heard the voice of one of her friends calling her, then she heard Alexander calling her, he was yelling from the hallway that he was so sorry, that he was just kidding, than he didn't mean it and that it was just a joke; anyway she just had made up her mind a couple of seconds ago and decided that she wasn't going to look back or down anymore.
She was wishing so hard that there wasn't anybody in the bathroom, but as usual, everything goes wrong for her, there were these three girls in the restroom with a "cheerleader look" talking about their boyfriends. She was mad, sad and so angry. She went into a bathroom stall; she was stuck there, crying in silence, she had already got used to cry in silence so nobody could hear her.
After all, that's what she always did. Cry in silence, hidden in some dark place.
Finally, she walked out of the bathroom, walking as fast as she could to get out of the school. She knew her mom was going to the dentist that morning, so she went home, packed some clothes and her most important things; she took her guitar also, which she hadn't played, not even touched it in three years.
During the last year she tried to drain her emotional pain through physical pain and stuff like that; she tried from what she considered the most stupid thing, like anorexia, to what she thought was the most sad and depressing thing, cutting herself, the only thing she hadn't tried yet was drugs, but she didn't know why. She was willing to do anything that could make her feel better and happier, but she always thought that this attitude was just pathetic. I guess she has always hated herself, but yet, she had always thought that she deserves better. Yes, she's always had some really self-contradictory thoughts going through her mind.
However, that day someone in her class made stupid joke about her, meaningless but at the point of her life she didn't need very much to finally drive her over the edge, and that joke, that the Alexander guy even apologized about, was enough to take her to a point where that willing she had to make anything to feel better, made her take a decision: to run away from home, leaving all she knew and all her family behind.
At school she wasn't a "nerd" or a "rejected" (labels that she didn't believe in anyway), she was everybody's "friend", and she was respected for everyone, the problem was that she just couldn't fit in anyway, she was into punk and music, good music I might add, while the rest of the people was just into "fashion", pop, and all kind of trendy shitty stuff.
At home her family couldn't understand her love for punk music, she was the youngest of four siblings, she was living with two of them and her mom and that in a little, little apartment in somewhere in Albany, Georgia.
Her sister was really cool, just that she was going through a really hard time, which had made her particularly bitchy lately; her brother was an idiot the ninety-five percent of the time, her father never at home, because he was working in another city, so he spent at home just a weekend every month or something, and when he did, she hated it, but she never explained me why. And well...her mom, she loved her mom, but she had just been too annoying during the last few years, after her friend died.
She was going to turn sixteen on eleven days, but being the only young member of an old family made her grow up and mature really quickly, so she was really independent, despite the fact that her mother always overprotected her.
She is the girl, who eventually became a woman, who all of you know about; but really nobody has ever heard of her.
