Queen of the 40 Thieves, chapter 7

***This is still from M.I./Nameless' point of view, because this is still part of the letter that she sent 'a couple of days ago' to whoever was telling the story from the beginning***

The day went by, it was getting late. He asked me my name about a hundred times during the day. But now the night had come and it was beginning to rain.

Jimmy put his cigarette away and said, "I think I'm going home."

I looked away, I had just realized that the day had gone by and I still didn't have a place to stay for the night, and I didn't have that many chances to find a decent place so late. Jimmy looked at me, "Where do you live?"

"Nowhere."

"And where's that located? Because it sounds like a good place."

"Seriously, why the hell do you think that I have so many bags and the guitar with me?"

"Okay, that's a good point, and where do you plan to stay?"

"I don't have any idea; do you know of any decent place where I can rent a room?"

"You can stand at my place."

"I'm not going to have sex with you."

"Did I mention anything about sex?"

"Well, anyway, just about six hours ago you had a gun pointed to my head, what makes you think that I'd rather to stay at your place than at some no-so-decent-place?"

"Okay, do whatever you want, but it seems like it is becoming into a really bad storm, and I'm going home," he said as he started to walk out of the alleyway.

"Jimmy, wait!" I finally said seeing he was already walking out of the alley. He turned around and looked at me as I grabbed my things and ran to catch them up.

"How far from here do you live?"

"In that building," he said while pointing with his finger to this really messed up building just one block and a half away from the alleyway.

"Okay, may I still stay with you?"

"Well, I shouldn't let you since you said 'no' twice, but I'll be a nice guy for once and I'll let you stay, but just for the night."

"Whatever, it's not like I would like to stay longer anyway."

"Do you want a ride Jimmy?" asked Steve from his car, being Dave and Tunny already inside the car.

"Hell no, is just a block away."

"But it's raining," said Dave.

"So...? Do you think that's going to kill me?" He waited for an answer but no one said anything. "So get the fuck out of my view," and so they did.

None of us said anything while we were walking to his apartment.

When we got to the building I saw an elevator and right then he told me, "Don't even dream about it, they have been 'fixing it' for the last three weeks. We gotta walk up the stairs."

"Are you kidding me?"

"I'm never kidding."

"What floor are we going to?"

"Sixth floor, it's not that much."

He had fun watching me suffer to carry all my bags while we were going upstairs.

We finally got to the sixth floor; we walked down the hallway and got to his apartment's door.
