Billie Joe was my friend, chapter 3

It's been a while since the suspension, and Billie and I eventually grew apart. We stopped talking, e-mailing, and calling each other. To sum it all up, it was like the suspension never happened.

I was walking and talking with Ashlyn when I, being stupid enough to not know where I was going, ran into Billie. Literally. I sent him tumbling down the stairs, and tried to pretend nothing happened, like I normally did when I sent someone tumbling down the stairs. But Ashlyn raised an eyebrow, and had a cow, so I slid (He he. slid. he he...) down the banister to see if he was ok.

"Billie, you alright?"
"Just spiffy."
"Looked like it hurt, landing on your face."
"No shit, Sherlock."

I grabbed his arm, and tugged him up. Then Tre and Mike stumbled around the corner. They stared at us, eyes like saucers, and Tre dropped his coffee. (I don't know if he drinks coffee but it seemed appropriate)

"Billie, what are you doing with her? You HATE her."

Which was totally stupid. Wait, why hadn't he told his best friends about what happened between him and I? Why hadn't he told his best friends he loved me? Why are frogs green? I just forgot about the first two questions and worked on the frog problem. Soon enough, I gave up on that, and blurted out,

"Billie hasn't told you?"
"Told us what?"
"What happened in suspension."
"No...."

My shit for a brain finally figured out what I had done when Billie turned a shade of red that made his tie look faded. -What have I done? I got myself in some deep shit, that's what. And dragging Billie in it too, that was brilliant.-

What was happening was my life was turning more dramatic than I ever wanted it to be. And I sat there for about 20 minutes( or that's what it felt like) when Billie explained the whole situation. And, as usual, I skipped out on Math, since there was only 15 minutes left of class, anyway.
