His One and Only daughter, chapter 2

Billie Joe was the one to step out of the car, laughing at the amazed expression on Eve's face as she gazed the large house. "Common,'s not like you haven't seen such houses in Missouri!" Eve shook her head as she got out, holding tightly her guitar's case, scared if as someone would appear out of nowhere and steal it. "Well, not about ten blocks around us, thank you! And, after all... ", and quietly added, "... I always lived in an apartment." Billie didn't seem to quite catch the last so he simply shrugged and taking the suitcases in his hands, made his way to the building.

"Anyway, we turned the practice room into a bedroom; hope you'll be comfy... " Eve nodded and fastened her pace as they slowly reached the house through a messy and full of toys garden. "Do you think... they will like me?" "Sure of it! And hell, Adi always dreamed of having a daughter... " he grinned and pulling out of his pockets a pair of keys, opened the white outdoor, a light scent of smoke and liquor making her shiver. "Home sweet home, kid! Now, they should be in the lounge... " Billie said to himself and let the suitcases down, walking down the hallway, Eve always behind him, scanning the decoration in amazement. Opening the two sliding doors in the end of the hallway, Billie Joe grinned widely stepping in and letting her take a glimpse.

The rest two Armstrongs were sitting there, Adrienne on an expensive looking armchair in the colour of violet, and Jakob and Joseph on a big, white, leather couch. Adi was wearing a Cabana-or sth like that- dress with exotic flower designs, having put light mascara and caught her hair in a nice bun. Joey wore a white suit like the one his father had in extra small size, his hair messier then ever as he'd been quarreling with Jake, and picking his nose. Jake was wearing a black suit, under it a white shirt full of dirt and his tie loosened up, himself picking his ear.

"Hey guys! This is Eve, Eve, meet my family!" Billie Joe beamed, completely unaware of the slight glaring the three family members shot towards her, who now had blushed in embarrass. Bowing down, so they couldn't see their narrowed eyes, stammered shyly 'Nice to meet you all' and retrieved her place behind Billie, who nodded, actually proud of himself for such a warm welcome. "Now, my beloved, one and only Adrienne... "

Adrienne forced a smile whilst moving her head, welcoming her to her house in that way. "Hey there!" The man grinned and sat between his two sons, embracing them tightly. "And my two troublemakers, Joseph and Jakob!" The boys waved unwillingly, not losing their frowns. "Hiiii." They bleated together, making Eve crack into a giggle and wave to them. "Hey big guys."

**Joey's POV**

... I DON'T like her. Jake said she might be nice, but I still don't like her. And daddy seems so happy round her... Mom said she shouldn't be any trouble, but I wonder if dad won't play with us with her around... Hmph.

Adrienne stood up and moved to the hallway, smiling in a mock sympathy. "I'll take your bags upstairs deary and then we can have some dinner! You can us tell all about you then!" Eve nodded shortly and smiling lightly to the woman who left, sat where Adi had been sitting, turning her interest to Billie as he started talking again. "Hey, kiddos, lemme tell you how I met Eve's mom... " Joseph frowned more and crossing stubbornly his arms, went on glaring Eve under his forelocks.

Eve's eyes wandered in the empty room, hands resting on her chest, lying on the soft mattress. The dinner had been a nightmare, and that was because all of them watched her every move on the table, and because Adrienne hadn't stopped her quite 'spicy' comments about her mother. ... Not that she was that fond of her mother, anyway. It had been a relief she took a break from her for awhile and stayed with her real father and not all those boyfriend's of hers... But at least she hoped that for the week or two she'd be staying, her new family'd treat her warmly...

What the hell!, she thought and smiling to herself, turned to the window and scanned the starry sky. Maybe they had a bad day, that must have been it. And, after all, she'd be meeting the rest Green Day boys themselves tomorrow morning. "Sleep tight." She uttered to herself and closing her eyes dozed away.
