Love lasts not only in life but in death, chapter 6
Adrienne was standing over Jem with a knife. A cut had ben placed on her arm and another was being put across her stomach.
"What...gives ...you...the right....to...steal....him, you are not happy you never have been, why did you try and kill yourself if you were happy."
Adrienne said while running the sharp blade across Jem's skin. She shrieked in pain.
Adrienne didn't even notice Billie standing by the door or run to her. She however, moved quickly so he ran past her. She lifted Jem up and put the blade against her throat. "don't come any closer!" Jem stared at him, scared. He had seen that face too many times and it broke his heart to see it again. She was helpless and he knew it.
"Now what I want, if I get this I am out of your lives forever. What I want is for you" she moved her face up to Billie Joe, "to love me like you love her," She put the blade tighter around Jem's throat and she whimpered as a result.
"What?!" Billie asked, not believeing wot he had just heard.
"I want you to make love to me as if you were making love to her. And she has to watch." Jem shut her eyes as tears ran freely from them.
"Or what?"
"She dies along with your children and you will watch me kill them."
Jem opened her eyes widely, frightened for the safety of her children.
Billie looked at Jem and she blinked agreedly. He had promised himself that he would let no harm come to Jem or their babies but never expected this sacrifice.
"OK" he whispered.
Adrienne stood Jem up, the blade still at her throat. She made her walk to the bedroom following Billie Joe. She proceeded to tie Jem to the table so she had no choice but to watch. She left the knife so if Jem tried to move it would kill her.
She walked over to Billie Joe and looked up to him. She moved her head to kiss him. Billie returned the kiss and Jem closed her eyes as tears formed. As they built up she had no choice but to open her eyes. When she finally forced herself to open them she glanced over to the bed. Her husband was on top of Adrienne pushing himself into her as she grabbed his hair. Jem's heart was braking, as her eyes wouldn't leave the bed.
Adrienne screamed Billie's name then Billie got off her and ran over to Jem, removing the knife before untying her. Adrienne still lay there panting in their bed. Billie kept saying how sorry he was but deep down Jem knew that if he hadn't of done it they would be dead. She closed her eyes again as tears fought their way to the surface.
