Love lasts not only in life but in death, chapter 9
"Now come on, we've got to try on our dressed for the wedding and you know, I might just let you use my make-up."
At this Buffy smiled madly. She was already experimenting in make-up and Jem's clothes at 5 years old! Billie was already teaching Anthony and Sammy guitar and bass and Sammy was 4! But it came naturally to them just like it had done to their father.
When they got back Jess was already in her dress and was laying the others out. Sammy and Anthony went to their room they shared across the landing and played on the PS2. Their room had 2 beds, the walls painted dark blue, their guitars and amps in the corner and loads of posters of cool punk bands were plastered everywhere. Jem took Buffy and Hannah to their room next door to the boys and helped them with their dresses. Their room was decorated with purple walls and fairy lights everywhere. Posters that were once Jemma's were now up on the walls and her cd's lay scattered on the blue carpet. Their dresses were red and flowed past their knees. Jem put hers on, hers too was red and cam down to her feet. There were no straps and was tight fitting, leaving nothing to the imagination. She had put weight back on since losing so much after Gerard and was much better health wise. They went in to see Jess and she gasped at the sight of them.
"You look gorgeous," tears welling in her eyes.
Jem put her mascara and lip-gloss on her daughters since she had promised she would.
It was Christmas Eve and everyone was extremely nervous. It had been snowing all day so Jess was bound to have her 'white wedding'. She kept looking out the window at the starry night and it began to piss Jem off.
"Would you fuckin quit it, everything's ok."
"I'm sorry, I'm just nervous but excited at the same time."
"Look everything's ok. Tre loves you so much. I've never seen him this way before. You may just be the one to tame him."
Both laughed at Jem's comment.
"Now go get some sleep. You look like shit."
"Thanks Jem, always one for a complement."
"I know" and she smiled"Jess! Get your lazy ass up now!" Jem pounded on the door.
"I'm up I'm up!"
"You have two hours to get ready."
With that Jess ran to the bathroom and had a shower.
Jem, Jess, Buffy and Hannah stayed at Jess's while the boys stayed at Jem and Billie's. Jem got her daughters ready and put some make-up on them. Then she sat them down in front of the T.V while she got ready. As Jem was putting her dress on she realised how lucky she was and that if she had ended her life how lost and alone Billie would be "I've got to make it up to him," she said to herself, while applying her eyeliner.
"Jemma I need a hand."
As Jem went into Jess's room Jess stood in the middle of the room. "I can't get the zip", she said blushing.
"What am I gonna do with you?"
The pair went downstairs and sat with the little girls until the car came to pick them up.
"Billie, Mike I'm getting married today." Tre shouted throughout the house.
Billie woke, startled. He rolled over to an empty bed, forgetting that Jem wasn't there. He hugged her pillow for a minute then began to get ready.
Mike came from the basement still in his pyjamas and made the guys breakfast, while Billie woke his sons. "Come on please. Uncle Mike's making breakfast and you'll see mummy in and hour."
Within half an hour all the boys were ready and were on their way to the church. Sammy insisted on having his hair spiked like his fathers, which meant Anthony wanted his done too.
They reached the church and went inside. Jem, Jess and the girls were on their way and sang the whole way due to the girls listening to Jem's cd's non-stop.
They arrived at the church and got out. The organ player started and everyone stood up. The front doors opened and Hannah walked down first, closely followed by Jess and her father, and then came Jem and Buffy. Hannah reached the front then stood beside her brothers and Buffy did the same when she reached the front. Jem stood to Jess's left but made sure she caught Billie's eye before she went.
The priest took the service and within 45 minutes Tre and Jess were now happily married. They walked back down the aisle followed by Hannah, Buffy, Anthony, Sammy, Greeny, Billie Joe and Jem, Mike and Nicole. As the photos were being taken Billie kept whispering dirty things into Jem's ear making her smile madly and laugh uncontrollably. Tre took Jess's hand and took her down the path to the car. They drove off leaving everyone.
