Adrienne woke up the next morning to the phone ringing. She groaned and looked at the clock which read 10:17. Adrienne rolled over and picked up the phone, which was on her night stand.
"Hello." he said rubbing her eyes so she would wake up.
"Hi Adrienne." said a familiar voice. Adrienne shot up wide-awake suddenly. It was Mike. She hoped this wasn't a bad phone call saying that something bad happened to Billie Joe or anything.
"Hi Mike." said Adrienne trying to sound like everything was okay. "Is everything okay?" asked Adrienne.
"I think I should be asking you that." said Mike.
"Oh no I'm okay." Adrienne lied. In the inside she felt broken and isolated in a way that she couldn't explain. She just wanted her and Billie Joe to make up already. Mike could tell she wasn't okay, but he didn't want to make her even more upset.
"Billie Joe told me to call and ask you if you could come pick up Joey and Jakob. They wanted to come to the studio with him, and now they want to go home. You know kids always changing their minds." said Mike.
"Sure, but I didn't know Billie Joe came home last night." said Adrienne. Mike was silent for a second.
"Oh he didn't I drove him over this morning cause he stayed at my house anyway he wanted his cigarettes or something, so I drove him over." said Mike.
"Sure okay I just need to get dressed and everything. I'll be there in 20 minutes
Or so." said Adrienne.
"Okay see you then." said Mike.
"Bye." said Adrienne.
"Bye." said Mike.
Something didn't seem right. Adrienne was a really light sleeper, she would have noticed if someone would had come in this morning or whatever. Adrienne decided to just go along and get dressed and do all that other crap you do in the morning.
On the way to the studio Adrienne was still thinking about the events that had happened in recent weeks especially the last few days. She feared though that what if her and Billie Joe started arguing in front of Joey and Jakob or something she couldn't do that especially after she promised Joey that everything was going to be okay, even though she wasn't too sure herself.
Adrienne arrived at the studio. She parked her car and went into the room that they normally practiced in. She openned the door there was Tre behind the drums, Mike with his bass in hand, and Billie Joe with guitar in hand. Adrienne looked around Joey and Jakob weren't there. Tre started playing the drums then Mike and Billie Joe came in with the guitar and bass. Billie Joe stared at Adrienne and began singing.
"Today is the first day of the rest of our lives, Tomorrow is too late to pretend everything's alright I'm not getting any younger as long As you don't get any older I'm not going to state that yesterday never was, Bloodshot deadbeat and a lack of sleep making your mascara bleed, Tears down your face, Leaving traces of my mistakes .....When I say.....If I promise to go to church on Sunday, Will you go with me on Friday night? Billie Joe put his guitar down and went over to Adrienne.
"Adie I'm sorry I wrote this song last night at Mike's please forgive me I wrote it for you." said Billie Joe. Adrienne's eyes were all watered up. She was so happy all sudden like as if someone magically took all the bad stuff that happened away.
"Come one Tre let's go get something." said Mike pulling Tre away.
"I want to see what happened." said Tre.
"Come on." said Mike pulling Tre. With that Mike and Tre left.
"Adie can you find it in your heart to forgive me?" asked Billie Joe staring into her eyes as sh did teh same with him.
"Yes." she said giving him a hug.
I'm sorry." he said holding Adrienne.
"I got these for you." said Billie Joe handing her a bouquet of roses. Adrienne noticed that there was a fake one she wondered why there was a fake one in there.
"Thanks's their beautiful, but why is there a fake fun in there?" asked Adrienne.
"Because I'll love you until the last one dies." said Billie Joe.
"But it's fake it won't ever die." said Adrienne. She thought about that for a second she understood.
"Exactly I'll never stop loving you." said Billie Joe.
