My encounter with Green Day, chapter 12
When they were finished they all went downstairs to find that everyone else was up. Jason White was at the sink making more coffee and Pam, Jessie, Tre, Mike and Jason Freese were sitting at the table.
"How'd it go?" Mike asked as soon as they walked in.
"Okay. We decided that they obviously can't be alone together. So some one will have to be there when they are together." Billie explained.
Mike nodded and took a sip of his coffee. "So, I suppose you guys apologized royally?"
Trista and Joey nodded.
"Well, me and Pam got to go. Estelle is coming to visit and I wanted to introduce them. I hope it goes better than this." He laughed.
"Yeah, me too." Tre said.
About an hour later the only three left I the house were Trista, Billie and Joey.
"So, what do we do now?" Joey asked.
"Clean." Billie sighed, looking at the mess of beer bottles and cans.

"So what are you gonna do?" Tre asked Billie as they walked to his car.
"I'm gonna, you know... " He said. They were talking about Trista's upcoming birthday party.
"I thought she wasn't gonna until she was married!" Tre screeched.
"That's what I'm doing! Proposing! What did you think?"
"Never mind." Tre said, embarrassed. "So where is she?"
"They have a show tonight. Their first as the main performers. I'm going to go see it. You coming?"
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for anything." He said, looking down at the ring on his finger.
Him and Jessie were married and had been since 2011. Tre had proposed on her 18th birthday and they had been happily married ever since.
"So what else did you get her besides the solid gold 24carrot ring that I know you bought?"
Billie gaped. He hadn't shown anyone the ring and Tre guessed it correctly.
"Billie, don't look so stunned. You are too predictable, that's all."
They hopped into the car and drove back to Tre's house where Jessie was getting ready to be picked up for the concert.
"Oh, Tre I'm so nervous. I'm gonna screw up."
"Babe, you're not gonna screw up. Come on, just relax. Okay, everything will be fine."
She turned and smiled at him. "Thanks, Tre. You're such a great husband." She kissed him on the cheek before running out the door to the awaiting vehicle.
"So what did you get her?" Tre asked again.
"A new guitar. It's a rare blue 1963 Fender Jaguar. It's rare enough let alone being blue. It's in perfect condition."
"Sweet."
"I'm gonna give it to her early. Tonight before the show. So she can use it. What did you get her?"
"Some stuff from the CD store."
*Trista's POV*
I stood beside Pam and Jessie waiting nervously for the opening band to finish when Billie, Tre and Mike walked in. I smiled at them all.
"Thanks for coming guys."
"No problem." Mike said walking over to Pam.
Billie stepped over beside me carrying a long box and leaned over, "Come with me for a minute."
I followed him away from the group and he held the box out, grinning like an idiot. "Happy birthday!"
"Billie my birthday isn't for two days."
"I know but I thought you might want this now."
I opened the box and took out the gift inside. I was shocked to find a beautiful blue guitar in it.
"Billie, this is so nice."
"It's a 1963 Fender Jaguar. A VERY expensive and rare guitar. And I hope you use the shit out of it."
"Oh my god. I love you!" I screamed. "Thank you, thank you thank you thank y-" I heard the last line of the other bands set and jumped up.
"I gotta go!" I kissed him on the cheek and ran out with the others.
"Whoa, dude. Nice guitar!" Pam laughed.
"Yeah, Billie gave it to me."
A second later we were running out on stage. I walked over to the microphone as the crowd cheered.
"Yo! What's up?" I shouted. "Before we start I want to make a very special thank you to some one. As you may notice, I have a sweet new guitar. I want to thank my boyfriend, Lead singer of Green Day," The crowd cheered louder. "Billie Joe Armstrong for this awesome instrument. Now I want to break this thing in so let's get to it!"
After the concert we all went back to Tre's and celebrated. No one screwed up at all. It was a miracle.
Two days later it was December 2nd and my birthday! When I woke up everyone was already over. Joey, Jakob, Adi, Jason, Tre, Mike, Billie, Pam, Jessie, Estelle and Frankito. We all had cake and Ice cream and stuff and at about 9 o'clock Billie broke out the booze. Just a couple coolers because he didn't want anyone getting smashed.
At about 12 every one went home and I and Billie were alone. (Joey had moved out and Jakob went to stay with Adrienne.) I sat on the couch and looked around. What to do, what to do. Suddenly two hands covered my eyes and I smiled.
"Guess who."
"Umm, Shirley temple?"
"Who?" He said, taking his hands off. Before he could get them back over the couch I had grabbed them and pulled him down over the couch. He smiled and kissed me and I let his hands go so he walked around and sat beside me.
"Hey." I smiled.
"Hi." He said, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
"What do you want to do now?"
"Hmmm, I can think of a few things."
I laughed and shifted to face him. He leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips. "You know I love you, right?"
"Yeah."
"And you know I want to spend forever with you, right."
"Yeah."
He smiled, reached in his pocket and took out a black, velvet box. And I panicked. I swear my heart was racing so fast I could have gone into cardiac arrest at any second. He was going to propose! Before he even asked I started contemplating. I had thought of this before but now it was really happening.
"Do you want to spend it with me?" He asked, smiling at me.
I was so happy but I still didn't know. I loved him, yeah but did I really want to get married right yet? I had to decide quickly. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly before answering.
"How'd it go?" Mike asked as soon as they walked in.
"Okay. We decided that they obviously can't be alone together. So some one will have to be there when they are together." Billie explained.
