My encounter with Green Day, chapter 16
"So who are you going to invite?" I asked Billie as I grabbed the lucky charms out of the cupboard and poured them into a bowl of milk.
"My mom, Jessie, Pam, Mike, Tre, your mom, Adi, Joseph..."
"Me," Jakob said.
"Him."
"Not too many people, but I would like to invite Melanie." Jakob smiled and Billie got a weird look on his face. "What?"
"Aren't you a little old to be eating lucky charms?"
"Shut up," I laughed.
"Could I have some?"
"Sure, there are plenty in that box on the counter."
"No, I want some of your's," he whined. Jakob rolled his eyes.
"No."
"Yes! I want, that, marshmallow, right...there," he pointed to a little blue star.
"Get your own." He sat on me and went to pick it out of my bowl.
"Billie, no."
"Yes. I am gonna get that stupid marshmallow." He grabbed my spoon and got the marshmallow. "Ha! Victory is mine." I smiled as he stuck out his tongue, the small blue figure clinging to it.
"Oh, yeah. What if I come get it?" I got up and pressed my lips against his, my tongue entering his mouth. We battled over the tiny marshmallow until it disintegrated leaving us to just kiss.
"Oh come on. My poor virgin eyes!" Jakob yelled pretending to be appalled.
"Yes because you and Melanie weren't necking it in your room yesterday." Billie made a small gagging noise and Jakob's face flushed a dark red color.
"Shut up." I sat down and continued eating my cereal.
A few days later we were getting every thing set up. Billie had insisted on having the wedding that weekend. "I am so nervous," I told Jessie and Pam as they helped me get ready.
"Don't be, it's really nothing to be worried about," said Jessie, having been through this before.
"That's not what you were saying when we helped you with this," Pam informed her.
"Ah, shut up I am trying to make her feel better." They finished straightening the dress and I looked into the mirror.
"Woah, white looks weird on me."
"It's a nice dress though."
"Yeah, Adrienne and Ollie helped me pick it out."
"Mhmm, woah. Did you ever notice that Adrienne is like, really nice?" Jessie asked.
"Uh, yeah. The first freaking day I met her," I replied.
"Yeah," Pam agreed. Jessie just stood there dumbly.
Suddenly the door burst open and Ollie and Adi ran in.
"Hey," I smiled as the rushed over.
"Oh, honey you look so good," Ollie said hugging me.
"Yes, you do," Adrienne agreed.
"Awe, thanks."
"Mhmm, the service is staring. We need the maids of honor out there now." Jessie and Pam nodded and rushed out, as did Adi leaving just me and Ollie.
"Okay, so who is walking you down the Aisle?"
"I don't know. I guess I'm goin' it alone."
"Oh, that can't happen dear. I'll get Frank to."
"Okay."
"Okay, I'll be right back dear." She hurried out of the room and I smiled into the mirror.
This was the best day of my life.
Later on that night when every one had left, me and Billie sat at home on the couch, holding each other. "That was the best," I whispered.
"Yeah, it was," he agreed, smirking. "Now let's get you out of this dress."
