My encounter with Green Day, chapter 17
The next day was pure bliss. Just Me and Billie. We got up, he made breakfast, and we talked. We fooled around and just hung out like teenagers.
At five Adrienne dropped Jakob off and we all decided to get a movie. We rented 'Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory'
When it was over, Jakob went to bed, as did Billie and I. We both lied in the bed in our nightclothes and I turned to him, "Hmm, Billie, do remember when we first met?"
"Yeah, babe, of course I do." He smiled.
"What did you think?"
"I thought you were the cutest thing I had ever seen."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really. That was before I knew you were thirt-fucking-teen though and I almost shit myself when I found out."
I laughed and looked into his eyes. They were soft and calm.
"What did you think?" He asked.
"I was just excited I was meeting my favorite band, and the man I thought of as the most handsome, sexy and influential in my life."
"Really? Influential how?"
"Well, we started our band when we were that age, the summer before we went to see you. You were our Idols. We loved you. And I thought of you as my personal idol. Always thinking; 'If I could just play guitar as well as Billie Joe, if I could just sing that well. We might make it.' And we did make it."
He smiled at me, "I must've been a damn good idol 'cause you turned out to be a great guitarist."
"Was that a compliment to you or me?"
"How about, both."
"Okay, I'll take that." I kissed him gently on the lips.
He laughed as I pulled away, "Is that it?" He leaned in and kissed me, his lips claiming mine. I spread them a bit and let his tongue explore my mouth. He wrapped his hands around my waist and I smiled.
"I love you so much." He whispered.
"I love you too." I kissed him again and snuggled closer.
"Hmm, do you ever wonder what it would have been like if we didn't meet?"
"No, I already know. It would be dull and pointless."
I stared at him. He was right; with out him, life would, to be honest, suck. I sighed and rested my head on his chest. We lay like that for a while before he asked if I was awake. I didn't answer so he shut out the light, kissed me on the top of the head and went to sleep.
I woke up the next morning alone. There was a note on the dresser:
"Babe,
Urgent meeting. Jakes at school already. Be back by 5 sometime. I'll bring dinner home. Don't make anything. Jake will be home at noon-ish he gets off early. Love you lot, see you after work,
Billie Joe."
I shrugged and looked at the clock. 11:30. Jakob would be home anytime soon. I decided to get up and get dressed. I got up and out of bed and went to the bathroom. When I came out I heard the door downstairs slam.
"Jake, that you?" I called.
"Yeah."
"Kay, we're gonna go shopping!"
"Alright!"
When I came down he was waiting. I grabbed my keys and we went out.
When we got home it was 3:29 and Jakob was exhausted. I had grabbed some hair-dye, some groceries and a home pregnancy test. I sighed and walked to the bathroom. I followed the instructions and put the test strip into the small machine. I waited for a few seconds before I heard it beeped and looked down at my results...
