My encounter with Green Day, chapter 3
He opened the room and stepped aside to let me in. It was much neater than the other room, but still a bit messy.
"So you want anything, you can have it. Just look in the fridge. There is Molson, Molson light, Budweiser, some coolers, almost anything you want."
"Um, do you just have plain Kool-Aid?"
"What is the matter with you kid? You are thirteen and have a choice of any alcohol you want and you want Kool-Aid?"
"I am not a big alcohol person." I replied simply.
"Ok, what ever you say, there is some Iced tea in the back of the fridge somewhere." I grabbed a Brisk and sat down on the other bed beside the one he was sitting on.
"So, are you gonna tell me why you were all pissy in the hallway there?"
"Oh, just something Billie Joe said."
"What'd he say?"
"He said I was 'Anti-social' and asked me what my problem was."
"You don't seem to be very anti-social to me. And why would him saying you are anti-social bug you? "
"I don't know. Maybe 'cause I like him a bit. I don't really care. I just don't get it; the only thing was I didn't want a drink so he called me that. Whatever. It doesn't really matter."
He smirked, "Ah, I see. So is that it then?"
"Yep. But don't ask anymore about it, please."
"Ok. What do you wanna do then?"
"Watch TV I guess, what is there to do?"
So he flicked on the TV and after a few shows I couldn't help but fall asleep.
I woke up the next morning but kept my eyes closed. I didn't want to see that it was all a dream.
"Hey, kid. You gotta get up, we have to leave."
I opened my eyes and looked around. Tré was standing beside the other bed, packing clothing and other stuff into a suitcase.
"Hmm, what time is it?"
"Like, seven thirty."
"Fuck... Too early."
I sat up slowly and looked at him. "What time did I fall asleep?"
"Like two."
"Ok, Oh. Shit, my mom is gonna be like 'Where the fuck is she?' I better go before she wakes up."
"Well, it's early so just stay for a while 'cause I gotta pack and I want someone to talk to."
"Ok."
So I sat there for a few minutes as he packed.
"Wanna come down to the lobby with me?" He asked.
"Sure, why the hell not?" I stood up and walked to the door and watched him try to walk over with like four bags. "Do you need help there, buddy?"
"Yeah, help would be good."
I walked over and took two of the bags.
When we got to the lobby, Billie and Mike were there with their stuff too, waiting for the tour bus. When they saw me the just stared.
"Good morning everyone."
Tré says, walking into the main place and off the elevator.
"Hey, what is she doing with you?" Billie asked.
"Well, she had a sleep over last night." He smiled. Billie stared between Tré and I.
"Nothing happened." Tré told them, "God, what do you guys take me for, a rapist?" He joked.
I put the bags down and turned to Tré. "Bye then." I turned to leave.
"You're not going to say good bye to Billie?" He winked and I glared at him.
"No, actually, I'm not." And with that, I turned and left.
As I walked slowly up the stairs I thought about yesterday and this morning. Oh, my god. After all that, I met them, I slept over in Tre Cool's hotel room and I still felt all surreal and weird. I reached for the door handle to my floor and I felt a hand on my shoulder. I spun around to see Billie Standing there.
"What?" I asked coldly.
"I just wanted to say sorry for being an ass last night."
I tried to be all bitchy at him, really I did. But, how the fuck could I stay mad at Billie Joe? I looked at him (I didn't really have to look up, he is my height.) and couldn't really say anything.
"Why apologize if you are going to be leaving in like, two minutes any ways?"
"Because I didn't want you going on thinking I was some snobby prick." I laughed a bit, "I wouldn't have thought that for very long. I was just a bit tired last night, that's all." He smiled, "Good. Ok, so. See you around?"
"Doubt it."
"Ok, well, either way. Bye." My stomach fluttered. A measly "Bye." Was all I could get out even though my mind was telling me, daring me, to say I love you.
When I got back to the hotel room Pam was still asleep. God, I was bored. I flicked on the TV and watched much music for a while before Pam woke up.
"Trista!" She squeaked.
"Hi."
"Where were you last night?"
"I was in Tre's room."
"Liar."
"Pam, think about everything that happened last night."
"Oh, yeah. I guess you are telling the truth."
"Yeah."
"So, what'd you guys do? Jessie is like, going to kill you."
"We didn't do anything. We talked for a minute, we watched TV and I fell asleep. This morning he left. That's it." "RIGHT."
"Shut up." I laughed. We sat talking for a while until Jessie came over about an hour later.
"Where did you go last night?"
"To, Tre's." I told her, dragging out his name.
"WHAT? WHY? HOW? I hate you." She glared as Pam and I laughed.
"Don't worry nothing happened. I just fell asleep and he woke me up this morning 'cause he was leaving."
"Oh, are they gone?"
"Yeah."
"Oh."
"Hey, mom doesn't know I was gone, does she?"
"Nah."
"Ok, good. So, what now. I am bored again."
"Let's just wait till mom gets up."
We waited till she woke up and when she did we all packed our stuff back up. We went shopping for a couple hours before beginning the long drive home.
"So you want anything, you can have it. Just look in the fridge. There is Molson, Molson light, Budweiser, some coolers, almost anything you want."
