Billie The Bully, chapter 17

Lucy was upset. Billie understood that, he was upset too.
He was by the Holston Bridge. It was really cold, but he hardly noticed.
He loved her.
He couldn't lose her.
He needed to tell her, tonight. Now.


Lucy was huddled in her room in her duvet, crying her heart out. She couldn't leave! She couldn't! She was just beginning to really be part of it all, she was just starting to live. She'd finally found some real friends.
She heard the doorbell go and sighed. She didn't want to face anyone right now. She hoped they'd go away, but they didn't, so she went to answer it.
She found Billie.
"Billie?" She whimpered.
Billie wrapped his arms around her, almost knocking her over, and she clinged to him as if they'd never see each other again.
"I don't want to leave, I don't want to leave, please don't make me!" Lucy sobbed into Billie's chest.
He stroked her hair, gulping down tears. He didn't want to be overly-dramatic, but he was devastated.
"I love you." He whispered.
Lucy continued to sob.
He pulled her away and looked at her. She blinked up at him, her blue eyes shining with tears.
He moved slowly, edging towards her, and all the time she watched him, eyes locked. He pressed his lips to hers, pushing her up against the walls. Their tongues pressed together.
That was when Lucy realized she loved him.
But it was too late.
