The family inside Sweet Children, chapter 2
I closed my locker door and headed for the exit. As I walked out of my school someone knocked me down. I fell hard to the ground and my books toppled everywhere, worksheets sprawled all over the ground.
"Jake you idiot!" yelled a boy's voice.
"Are you okay?" another boy said, helping me up.
"Yes"I said weakly.
"My name's Jake, sorry I knocked you down. My friend pushed me." he explained.
"It's alright." I said managing to smile. I finally payed attention to his looks as my eyes met his sapphire blue ones. He had black hair geled into small spikes and a pierced eyebrow. My stomach turned immediatly turned over and I kept staring at him, almost breathless. I snapped out of my trance and started to pick up my papers and books. Jake helped.
"Thanks." I said when we were all finished.
"No problem." he smiled. I could'nt help but smile too. Those blue eyes were just mezmirizing.
"And what do we have here?"
I looked up and to my horror I saw Billie Joe. I was afraid he noticed my drooling over Jake that he was sure to point out. I had heard that he could be charmingly obnoxious and outgoing.
"It looks like my littlest band member has a wittle crush!" he taunted.
"And there it went." I thought. I knew my face was as red as it would ever be. Now I think Jake will never want to talk to me again!" Thanks alot Billie!" I thought, anger seeping in with the embarrassment.
"There's no need to be embarrassed." Billie taunted again, pinching my cheek.
"Ummm I think I need to go.." Jake said ackwardly, ruining Billie's pleasure.
I waved feebly after him and then started walking home. I was so mad at Billie.
"Hey!" Billie called and caught up with me.
"Billie you ruined my chances with Jake!" I said angrily." I know we just met but I don't want to speak to you already." Isaid walking faster.
"Hey wait a minute." he said." I was only joking around." he laughed.
"You embarrassed me Billie." I pouted looking up into his sparkling green eyes.
"Haha, sorry but it was fun"he smirked." Anyways forget about looking stupid in front of that guy, we've got band practice!"
"We do?" I asked." Where and when?"
"At your place I'm guessing because I know your mom is overprotective and being how we really don't know each other very well..."
"She called you didn't she." I interrupted.
"Yeah, yeah.." Billie sighed." And she scares the Shit outta me! Yelling about how I better take care of her doaughter when it's just you and the band." he said wide-eyed.
I started cracking up laughing even though I was embarrassed about my mom calling Billie Joe. Billie smiled warmly.
"Anyways practice is right now so that's why I came to your school, to tell you and walk you home." he said.
"Ok..." I said.
Billie put his hand on my back." C'mon kid." he smiled, and we walked to my house.
When we got there I opened the front door and was greeted by my dog Blaze. Nobody was home and I was still kinda nervous around Billie. But having my dog there made me feel safe and more relaxed.
"You got any food?" Billie asked.
"Yup, help yourself." I said.
Billie made himself a peanutbutter sandwich and we sat down at the diningroom table.
"Mike and the drummer Al should be here any minute now." Billie said through a mouthfull of sandwich.
I smiled and drummed my fingers on the table.
Sure enough, two minutes later I heard a knock on the door and two seventeen-year-old boys walked inside.
"Finally!" Billie said getting up and walking over to them." Keanne this is Mike." he said pointing to a taller bot with straight blond hair and blue eyes.
Mike smiled at me and ruffled my hair." Nice to meet you cutie!"
"Thanks, same to you too." I smiled.
"Yeah! I'm a cutie!" Mike declared.

"And this is our drummer Al Sobrante." Billie said pointing to a guy with light brown hair and brown eyes.
He didn't say anything so I smiled and said"Nice to meet you."
I stuck out my hand but he didn't shake it.
