Who's that fucker over there?, chapter 18
"How far did you get?" asked Mike.
"She let me kiss her... " Tre said, in a daze.
Billie grinned.
"You guys like those secretive relationships, don't you?" he said.
Tre giggled.
Mike cleared his throat.
"Speaking of secretive relationships... Ana ended things with Mark," Mike informed the guys.
Billie sat up and looked at the back of Mike's head. He was driving, so he couldn't get direct eye contact.
"She's coming over to the beach with us," Mike said.
Billie leaned back in his seat.
"You guys move along pretty quickly," he said.
Billie's phone rang.
"Hey." It was Adie.
"Hey! I haven't talked to you in a while," Billie said, sitting up again.
"I was just wondering, are you coming over this weekend?"
Billie bit his lower lip. He had forgotten to tell Adie in advance.
"Umm... No. I'm going to the beach with Mike and Tre this weekend,"
"Oh... Then I'll see you next week?"
"Mmhmm, yeah."
There was a silence on the other line.
"Ok... um... bye," Adie finally said.
"Bye," Billie replied.
Billie turned his phone off and watched Mike drive in silence for the next 20 minutes.
Mike finally pulled into a parking lot in front of the beach.
The guys loaded out of the car and checked into the beachside hotel first. Tre made the reservations.
Billie looked at himself through the mirror before leaving. His pale body had one tattoo on it. He was planning on getting a new tattoo some time soon. Billie twitched when Tre flung open the door.
"Come on dudey, Mike's waiting," Tre said.
Billie grabbed a random towel and followed Tre out the door.
Billie actually found himself having fun at the beach with Mike and Tre. He striked poses with the guys while Ana took pictures. Billie hesitantly walked into the raging ocean. Tre just ran towards the ocean.
"You're being such a cat right now," Tre said.
"Yup. I'm a pussy," Billie replied.
Tre laughed.
He squinted and found Mike and Ana lounging in the sand.
"They're getting pretty cozy over there, aren't they?" Tre asked, pointing the couple out.
Billie, who had been busy dodging waves, didn't pay attention.
Tre beckoned Billie over. Billie spotted Tre and walked over towards Tre.
"What?" asked Billie.
"Just look—"
Tre didn't get to finish his sentence. A wave crashed on the pair and sent them underwater.
Billie surfaced, sputtering water.
"Holy fuck!" he exclaimed.
Tre laughed. Billie had a clump of seaweed on his head.
Billie felt his head and grabbed the seaweed. He looked at it in disgust and threw it back into the ocean.
"I thought that was a stingray or something," Billie said.
Later that day, the guys and Ana had dinner at a seafood resturaunt.
Billie shifted his seafood around.
"What would you guys say if I turned vegetarian?" he asked.
Mike laughed.
"Is it an excuse to not eat at this place right now?" he asked.
"No... But I'd think it'd be fun to experience something like it," Billie replied.
Tre choked on his seafood.
"Fun? How the fuck do you live without meat?" he asked.
"I don't eat meat too often anyway," Billie answered.
"Problem solved," Mike said.
Billie sighed.
He twisted his seafood pasta on his fork.
Mike sat down on his hotel bed. He wondered if he should "invite" Ana over. He hesitated. She might get the wrong idea of him. He argued with himself in his head before deciding to go over to Ana's room. He knocked.
Ana opened the door. She was still in her normal clothes.
"Hi!" she said, gesturing for Mike to come in.
"Hey... I was wondering if you'd like to come over to my room instead? I've got a better view of the ocean," Mike babbled.
Ana shrugged.
"Ok," she answered.
She followed Mike towards his room. Mike opened the door for Ana. Ana stepped in and looked around. Mike was right, his room was nicer.
Mike directed his eyes on Ana's.
"You wanna talk?" he asked, offering her a glass of champagne.
"She let me kiss her... " Tre said, in a daze.
Billie grinned.
