Why Am I Here?, chapter 6

4 HOURS LATER.....

Adie woke me, saying Mike and Tré had come over already. I felt like I'd only slept five minutes. I said I'd be down in a minute and she nodded, walking back downstairs. I rubbed my eyes and yawned loudly, getting up and stretching. I rubbed down my clothes. I walked downstairs and saw Adie and two men sitting across from her. I was guessing this was Mike and Tré.

One man had short brown hair and wore a striped wifebeater and a leather jacket. He was very skinny and had long legs that stretched across the floor. He had a dangle earring in one of his ears and had small blue eyes. The man sitting next to him looked completely different. He had baggy blue pants and a long t-shirt with a coffee cup on it. He had messy green hair and sat catty-cornered on the couch.

"Hey Billie!" The man with the messy green hair said. I stifled a laugh when he talked. His voice sounded like a duck. "Uh... hey." I sort of murmured. I sat down in one of the recliners, relaxing. "Hey Bill." The man in the wifebeater said. He had sort of a monotone voice, but it was still nice. Not like ones that are always sounding uncaring. I waved to him. "Billie," Adrienne started, "This," She said, pointing to the brown haired man, "is Mike. He's been your friend since you were ten." Mike smiled at me. It wasn't a happy smile though. It was one of those worried smiles. I smiled back in the same way.

"And this," She said, pointing to the green haired man, "is Tré. He joined your band 5 years ago." (Remember this is based in 1995) Tré smiled as well. I was kind of uncomfortable because I didn't know what to say. I'd just met these people 5 minutes ago, although I've know them for years. I just sat there, not knowing what to say, what to do. Adie asked Mike to go to the kitchen with her for coffee and to talk.

Tré asked me to sit next to him because he wanted to talk so I walked over and sat next to him with a 'clunk.' "Billie?" he said. "Yeah?" I had a tired voice because I'd just woken up. "Do you remember anything from the party?" He said, worry in his high little voice. "No. I don't remember anything before waking up. But when I woke up... my head was bleeding and it hurt like hell." I sort of laughed at the memory. I'm not sure why. It was actually pretty depressing. Waking up in the dark with my head bleeding like crazy. I guess I laughed because it felt like a million years ago.

"Do you know why my head was bleeding?" I asked, wanting to get some answers. "Uh... no. Can't say I do. I do remember you getting really fucking wasted though. You were running into everything and you walked into the bedroom and I guessed you'd passed out. Maybe you hit your head on something when you passed out."

I blushed. I remembered all the people who were there and getting wasted in front of them isn't too flattering. Although, they were all probably wasted too. He scoot closer to me. He breathed out heavily. "Do you... remember this?" He said. That's when it happened. He kissed me, smack dab on the lips. I pulled off of him immediately. "What the fuck?!" I said, obviously uncomfortable. "Billie... we're supposed to be together. You told me that night..."

How many damn people did I hook up with?!?! He kissed me again, this time sticking his tongue down my throat. He pushed me down on the couch, but I pushed him off. "I... I'm sorry...." Tré said, picking himself off the floor and going out the door, blushing. I sat there wide-eyed. Adie and Mike came back in the room. "Hey Bil-... Where's Tré?" Adie said, holding her coffee. "He... he had to go."

Hey at least I wasn't lying.
