Regrets Of A Teenage Life (Sequel To Time Of My Life), chapter 16
It was 2:00am and I decided it best to sleep on the couch. I lazed there flicking through the channels slowly, but surely drifting into an uneasy sleep. My thoughts swirled and mixed together in my mind confusing me. I drifted off last looking at the clock 3:15am I drifted in and out of sleep all night waking up about every half an hour.
When I finally woke up at about 10:00am Matt and Emma where on the other couch watching T. V and Jake was playing xbox. I stretched and sat up.
"Is your mom awake yet?" I asked Matt
"Not that I know of" he said not taking his eyes off the T. V. I got up and went to the kitchen. I made some pancakes and some coffee and put them on a tray and carried it upstairs. I set it down on the bedside table and gently shook Rebecca awake.
"Morning honey" I said as she opened her eyes and sat up.
"Oh" she said stifling a yawn. "it's you" she said.
"Yes it's me I don't want to argue with you. All I can tell you is the truth and that is that I didn't have sex with Adrienne I merely stopped at her house because it would mean not having to pay for a hotel that's all and I admit something nearly did happen but she stopped it." I confessed.
"So you nearly cheated on me and you weren't even the one who stopped it she did" she said swallowing a mouthful of pancake.
"Yes and I know it is not good enough but I am sorry. I can say nothing more than that and I can try and show my love and affection for you but the first surprise you will have to wait and see" I told her.
"Billie Joe you know I cannot stand it when we fight and this time I thought it was over for good when you yelled we are through I could have ripped my heart out there and then but I couldn't in a ray of hope you would come back. What I said was wrong and what you did was wrong too but we learn from our mistakes and we never really realise what we have until it's gone" she said looking down.
"That is exactly what I thought. You never realise what you have until it's gone" I said. She smiled and I kissed her tenderly on the lips. I felt a surge of warm energy penetrating through my body at that moment. Like a huge zap of electricity was buzzing to get out and someone had flicked the switch and turned me on. She undid my shirt and I pulled her jeans off. Let's just say we had the best sex we have ever had.
Later that day Rebecca wasn't feeling well so I took my chance to prepare her surprise. What it was to be I'll never know. I sat and thought then it came to me. A day out at one of those romantic spa thingys she would like that! I had a look on the internet and found one nearby so I dialled the number and booked us in for a day then I booked the best hotel I could and we were all set. In 4 days we would be at a nice spa. I sat down and rested and ended up drifting into a completely calm sleep.
*Rebecca's pov*
I woke up and went downstairs feeling much better but what I saw when I got down there made me want to die. Tyler was lying on the floor barely breathing. I got Billie up.
"Billie Joe come on Tyler is going to die you have to hurry" I pleaded. He got up and grabbed his jacket and car keys. I picked Tyler up and sat with him on my knee all the way to the vets crying softly to myself. When we got there the vet saw him straight away.
"I'm afraid it is too late Tyler is very ill and old. I am afraid we will have to put him to sleep because he is in too much pain to keep him alive and it is for the best" the vet explained sympathetically.
"Ok I-I understand" I sobbed into Billie Joe's jacket. He rubbed my back and kissed the top of my head.
"We can get a new one" he told me
"I know but it won't be Tyler" I sobbed.
"Ok you can come say goodbye to Tyler and then we will have to perform the injection" the vet said leading us into a room. I saw his pretty much lifeless body lying on the little bed thing. I held his limp body in my arms. He gave my face a feeble lick and I gave him a kiss on the head before laying him gently back down. He was whimpering I gave him a stroke as did Billie Joe. I gave him one last kiss before we were ushered out. We waited around until it had been done. We could collect the ashes in 2 days. $100 to get my own freaking dog bag in ashes it is disgraceful yeah you are grieving and the vet says "you can have the ashes back" and you are like "oh thanks so much" then he turns round and says "for $100" but never the less I got them back. I went home and cried. I know it was only a dog but he was a Christmas present from Billie Joe. I am so glad we got back together when we did because Tyler would have been my only memory of Billie Joe but he would have been dead. I sat down later in the evening with a mug of hot chocolate finally calmed down after what had happened today. Me and Billie watched a film while Matt and Emma were at Katie's and Jake stopped at Abby and Mike's.
