Aeon Flux, chapter 8

Mike ran blindly through the darkened streets of Montreal. His eyes glowed with hunger as he stumbled through darkened alleys. You're hungry aren't you?

"Who the fuck said that?" he screamed into the chilly night air as he stopped and spun around looking for the owner of the voice.

Her blood would taste so good trickling down your throat. She's around here somewhere just waiting... .

Mike looked ahead to see a young girl bundled in a ratty coat walking steadily towards him. Her eyes were focused on the ground as she wrapped a scarf tighter around her neck. She's just asking for it isn't she. She's yours for the taking Mike so go ahead... indulge.

Mike gasped for breath as he fell against the cool brick ground. "Are you okay?" came a soft voice from above him.

Mike looked up to see the young girl standing less then a foot away from him
Hahaha she's presenting herself on a fucking silver platter for you. "Sir, are you okay?" she asked again taking a step back.

DO IT!

Mike stood up and seized the young girl by the neck. She barely had time to let out a scream before he sunk his fangs deep into her neck. He could feel his mouth fill with something warm and familiar as the world came back into focus.

The young girls flailing feet became still as the last of her life force was sucked away. Mike dropped her body and watched it fall into a heap on the wet, cold ground.

Congratulations you're not as big as a fuck up as I thought you were! Now get out of here quick. I want you to go somewhere... .a place where all your questions can be answered and all your answers can be questioned.
Mike stared at his bloody hands.
"Wh..who... who are you?" he stammered.
Just think of me as a friend who is going to help you through this tough time. Now come on there's not much time left.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit," said Rayne ignoring the looks she was getting from the other passengers on the metro. "Where the fuck could he have gone?"

"I don't know. Mikes unpredictable and giving the circumstances there's no telling where he would go," replied Billie adjusting his stance as the train sped through a station.

The sudden squealing of breaks sent everyone flying as the train came to a sudden and abrupt stop. "Everyone okay?" asked a middle aged man who had been sitting in the corner.
"I think so," said Adrienne. "But what the hell is going on?"
"Rayne," said Kaye in a worried voice as she adjusted the thin shawl that was covering her shoulders. "Do you smell that?"
Rayne's eyes widened as she inhaled deeply. "EVERYONE GET DOW.."

She was cut off as an arrow sailed by her face missing it by less than an inch. Kaye pulled the arrow from the wall and stared at it for a moment before discarding it on the ground.

"Deathdealers... " she whispered to Rayne. "We need to get out of here."

"Ok Billie, Tre, Adrienne get moving we need to get off of this train right now!" yelled Rayne as she preyed open the door. Sparks flew in every direction as the mechanical interior of the door protested against itself being opened.

"Why is it getting so cold?" asked Tre as he jumped down onto the track.

Billie Joe looked behind where Rayne was standing to see a thin layer of frost begin to creep along the seats and rails. The other passengers began to panic as those who had been sitting in their seats found they were now frozen put. The fluorescent lights that illuminated each car began to turn off and the entire train was submerged into darkness. A women screamed in the distance and everything went silent. A steady ticking noise filled the car.

Tick, tick, tick... .bangbangbang... ..tick... tick... ..BANG!

The door flew open as the biggest man Billie Joe had ever seen stepped through into the subway car, he was accompanied by twelve others. The lights flickered on and to Billie Joe's horror he realized that the window from the car ahead of theirs was covered in blood.

"Well, well," sneered the man. "What do we have here?" His face was covered in scars and tuffs of fur poked through the holes in his shirt. His left eye was completely black as opposed to the right one which was a dark shade of blue. Billie didn't have time to look over the man again before he felt himself being thrown out of the car by Rayne.

"Run, everyone RUN," she yelled as she began to jog ahead. "We need to split up everyone meet outside of Notre Dame, if you don't show up then we can't wait for you."

"What, wait!" yelled Tre as he fumbled and tripped over his feet. "Damn complicated shoes with their damn laces," he cursed as he began crawling on all fours.

In a split second he felt someone's foot dig into his back as he was pressed firmly onto the steel track. "Sorry my friend, but only the strongest survive and it looks like you were the slow Zebra in this chase," laughed the man as he raised a knife above Tre's head.

"Waiiiit NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Tre.
