Waking Up To Screams., chapter 1
It was about 3:00 AM, and Billie Joe woke up to screams coming from down the hall. He looked over in the bed, 80 wasn't there. He got up and frantically ran down the hall, looked behind the door of Joey's room, no one was in there. He ran down to Jakob's room, where Adrienne and Joey were crying and holding Jakob. He didn't understand what was going on, so he went to 80 and Joey and screamed "What Happened?"
"I woke up when I heard the sound of a huge crash hitting the floor, and when I went downstairs to see what happened, I saw Jakob laying on the floor and the Grammy laying beside him. I called Joey to help me bring him upstairs to his bedroom, but when we got him up here, he was unconscious and we tried so hard to wake him up but he didn't." Adrienne said.
By this time, Billie Joe had fallen on his knees beside his son and was crying. He got himself together and ran downstairs and called 911. When the ambulance got their, 80 and Jakob were put in there while Billie Joe and Joey took off in the car. At the hospital, BJ, 80 and Joey were all waiting for the doctor. He came out and said, "We need to know how this happened."
Adrienne explained, "I woke up and went downstairs for a soda, and I found Jakob laying on the floor. The fridge was open and I hadn't noticed that two bottles of Jack Daniels were missing. I found them laying on the floor and one was empty while the other was almost."
Billie Joe looked at her with a very confused expression on his face, because had she not just told him that he was trying to look at the Grammy and while he was, it fell on him? Why was she telling a different story? Jakob knows what Jack Daniels is and he very well knows not to drink two bottles of it. She played it off when the doctor went away by putting her face in her hands and crying. A while later, Billie Joe called Mike. He told him what he was told that happened and then what the doctor was told.
"Okay, I know it's 4:00 in the morning and we have a show tomorrow, but this is my SON here. And I don't know what my wife is talking about. Go over and get Tre and the both of you get your asses over here now." Screamed Billie.
He went back over to Joey and said, "Come with me. I know your hungry or thirsty." Joey and Billie went around the corner leaving 80 in the waiting room crying still.
"Now, do you know why your mom told the doctor something totally different from what she told me?" He asked.
"No, but you know what is total craziness, she came in my room and was crying and out of breathe telling me that Jakob had just tripped and fallen down the stairs and was knocked unconscious because he flipped and hit the marble table beside the stairs. When she told you, I went along with it because I didn't care what had happened to Jake, but only what was going to happen to him." Joey explained.
"Well, she seriously has some explaining to do. I want to know what happened to Jakob. And I am glad that you care about your brother enough to put something like this behind and only worry about if he's alright. You want to come with me and talk to the doctor?"
