When Things Go Bump In The Night, chapter 2
It was a couple of hours later. Mike was snoring softly in his bed. The door creaked open. In stumbled two men. It was Tre and Billie Joe, shadows against the dark room. Neither of them could remember what had just happened to them. All they knew is that they had woken up in an alleyway. The walls had been splattered with blood and with further inspection, they had noticed, in tiny handwriting, at he bottom of the wall, it said: "Mike," along side a small handprint. Both were in blood.
Both doubted that it was their bandmate. He wouldn't do a thing like that.
They both walked unsteadily across the room to their own beds. The sun was starting to rise now. They had to play a gig that night. They should get as much rest as possible.
Tre laid down on his bed and was asleep In what seemed a matter of seconds.
Billie, however, tossed and turned, the springs in his lumpy mattress squeaking every now and then. He couldn't stop thinking. Why was he and Tre taken? How come Mike wasn't? Why did it say Mike on the wall? When you think about it, Mike is a pretty common name...
Billie lay thinking until he finally fell asleep.
It wasn't long after Billie Joe fell asleep that Mike began to stir. He say up groggily and cast a look around the room. His eyes first fell on Tre. He had a massive gash across his head. That hadn't been there the last time he looked. He looked away and focused on Billie, who seemed unscathed.
"Odd," Mike muttered to himself before sitting up on the edge of his bed. The springs creaked a little as he did so. They sounded like a zombie moaning or something. Mike chuckled a little as that thought popped into his head.
He made his way into the bathroom and turned on the shower where he started to get undressed. He stepped into the shower, realizing that the water was cold. He turned the tap to make more hot water to come out, but as soon as he did so, the clear water turned blood-red. He was to scared to scream, he jumped out of the shower and tried to get all the blood off his skin with the towel at the side of the shower.
He lifted his head to look into the mirror to make sure all of the sticky red substance was off his face.
The mirror, even though the water had been could was all steamed up, as Mike lifted his hand to clean it off, a word was written in it, right before his eyes. It said: "Mike"
He looked at it, shocked as a gooey red liquid started seeping from the edges of the mirror.
He ran out of the bathroom and into where his two friends were sleeping.
"Guys, wake up! We're getting out of here!" He panted, flinging his belongings into his open suitcase.
"Mmm, what?" Tre asked, sleepily.
"I'm not staying here a moment longer!" Mike shouted.
"Dude, what are you talking about?" Billie Joe asked, rubbing his eyes.
"I don't know, but we've got to get out!" he shouted, grabbing his two friends and pulling them out of the door.
Billie Joe and Tre looked at each other, completely bewildered.
"Mike, what's going on?" Tre asked as the trio neared the landing.
"We're getting out of here, that's what's going on!" Mike shouted, looking wildly over his shoulder.
They burst into the reception area.
"What's going on here?" The aging receptionist asked from behind the desk.
"I'm nit staying here a moment longer," Mike shouted, continuing to drag his friends out.
"Mike, will you tell us what's going on?" Tre pleaded.
"It knows my name!" Mike whispered, leaving his two friends even more confused.
"What?" Billie asked as Mike stopped outside the hotel. Mike didn't answer. His eyes were fixed on the window of their room.
Stood there was a woman with long blonde wavy hair. She waved at him and smiled.
"Dude, what's up?" Tre asked, looking, but not being able to see anything.
"Can you see her?" Mike asked, eyes still fixed on the young woman.
"See who?" Billie asked, also turning around.
"That woman!" Mike shouted pointing towards the window. As soon as Mike lifted his hand up, the woman wasn't there anymore.
"Mike, there's no one there," Billie said, resting a hand on the taller man's shoulder.
"But, there was... She waved to me and then, she just vanished," Mike said in a low voice.
"You're seeing things mate," Tre said, escorting Mike back up to their room.
Despite not wanting to go back, Mike didn't put up a fight and let himself be dragged into their room.
When they got back up, Billie Joe unlocked the door and they walked in. To Mike it was freezing, the hairs on the back of his neck were stood up on end.
"Man, it's boiling in here, open a window," Tre said to Mike.
"But it's freezing!" Mike protested.
"Says you with the jacket on!" Billie Joe joined in.
Mike cast a look at the other two.
"I'm going back to bed. Must be ill," he muttered before crawling under the slightly stained sheets.
Both doubted that it was their bandmate. He wouldn't do a thing like that.
