The Joke Is Over (Sequel to Late Night Partiers), chapter 25
"Well, I guess I'm gonna got to get some rest cause I haven't gotten a good rest since," Mike paused. "Since way before I got put in the hospital."
"Ok, Mike,'' said Billie and Adrienne still sitting down in the grass.
Mike was now standing and walking back to the Armstrong household. He walked into the door leading into the kitchen and looked around. He smiled at the fact that Billie was really worried about his "situation" and "way of life". Finally, he decided to continue his path through the house. Mike gazed upon the never ending photo's hanging upon the walls leading up the stairs. Then some more at the top, "Damn, I never noticed how many pictures were in this house." Mike passed Joey then Jakob's room finally he made it to the extra bedroom. He opened up the door and saw a well kept room with creamy colored walls. The maroon quilt draped across the bed revealed a beige sheet beneath it. Mike has stayed in this room before about a year ago when they had a late night band practice. Adrienne and Billie Joe were fighting pretty bad that day too, so Billie just wanted someone to stay there to keep the fighting down a bit. Mike seemed to always do a very good job at that. He has always been the person to break up arguments and make everyone get along.
Tre on the other hand was always there to make everyone laugh. He hasn't really cracked a lot of jokes lately. He has been too worried about what will happen to Emily.
What Billie Joe, Mike and Adrienne didn't know was that a few hours ago, Emily's family did come after her. Leaving Tre alone.
Tre watched the silent TV as he drunk a beer. He really didn't feel too well. Especially after they came and took Emily away. Tre wished Mike would have came home with him because he needed some company. He didn't want to call because everyone would think he was desperate or something. So, Tre just sat there and glared evilly at the television. One beer after another, he began to think about when he had bought all of the beers he was drinking. Then again, the story came rushing back to him when he thought about everything that has happened in the last year. He wouldn't want any of those memories to come flooding back and ruin what he has right now. At least they would keep him busy instead of letting him waste away like he was doing right now.
Tre started thinking about a lot of things like his mental health. Maybe I am going crazy. What if I'm depressed and can't cure it? What is Emily's family gonna do with her? Stop, Tre! Stop!! Make your mind go blank! Don't think of anything! Slow down with life right now and maybe I can get over some things that have been happening.. What if I can't? Shit, I'm doing it again. Tre rolled his eyes and continued drinking his beer. He laughed at the fact that he was about to answer himself aloud. He giggled silently and stared at his reflection in the TV. Why am I watching myself waste away in the television? Eh, sweet! A boring ass show about me, Tre Cool of Green Day. How fucking amazing would a damn show like that be? By the way I feel right now, not too great. I'm talking to myself again. I've got to stop doing shit like this before Billie comes in and takes my ass to a crazy doctor.. Tre got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to throw away his now empty beer can. On his way back to the living room he grabbed another can of beer then went back to the couch.
Sitting back down on the couch Tre tried his best to think about what they were up to at Billie's house. Most likely asleep or plotting revenge on Tre for some odd unknown reason. Tre liked to think that they were asleep. It's 3:30am who wouldn't be unless they were an insomniac..
That's it!! I've become an insomniac and can't sleep anymore. That's my problem!! Tre rose the beer can up into the air and thought some more. Toast to an even drunker Tre Cool and cheers to a very unhappy next couple days... he took a huge swig of beer and his eyes landed on a picture of him, Ramona, and Frankito. Aww. I miss my kids. I need to call them or go visit them sometime. That's probably what I should do to lift my spirits. Tre nodded and took another swig of beer and lied down onto the couch. He nodded more as he finally fell asleep.
