Violence of Summer, chapter 33
It was quite early in the morning but the summer sun still made its way through the clouds. Tre slowly made his way up to the house looking at his watch before knocking on the door lightly. It was about nine o'clock in the morning and he wasn't quite sure if Charlie was out of bed yet or not. She wasn't the one for being an early waker and it was a Saturday. After a couple of minutes of no answer he knocked again this time harder waiting for an answer. Finally the door opened and Tre was faced with his auburn haired friend who was still wearing only a pair of hot pants and a tank top in the heat. She didn't look too pleased to be faced with him... after all he was the last person she wanted to see right now.
"What do you want?" she asked bitterly looking at Tre. He stood on her doorstep for a while not quite knowing what to say as he played with the rim of his aqua green t-shirt shuffling his feet on the door mat.
"Can I come in?" he asked quietly looking up as his eyes met Charlie's. She dropped her shoulders opening the door wider for him. He looked very tired and hung over and she didn't feel one bit sorry for him.
He deserves the biggest headache in the world...
He stepped into the house ruffling the back of his blonde messy hair as Charlie shut the front door behind him. "So... " she said as Tre turned around to look at her. She put her hands on her waist leaning onto one side of her body. "What do you want?" she repeated.
"Look... " he started. Charlie raised her eyebrows waiting for him to continue as a silence fell over them. "Where's Ricky?" he asked suddenly.
"At work... " Charlie replied walking past Tre to go into the kitchen.
"On a Sunday?" Tre said as he followed her into the kitchen.
"He works on odd days sometimes... " Charlie answered hastily. She opened the fridge then shut it turning around to look at Tre who was standing opposite her. "Look why are you here?" she asked sighing slightly.
"Well... " Tre paused taking a step towards her. "I came to... say sorry about last night... "
Charlie looked at Tre for a long time leaning against the fridge. "I guess you don't remember what I said to you in the taxi last night then?"
Tre shook his head softly as Charlie walked over to the counter. He couldn't help himself but look at the back of her body before quickly averting his eyes back up to her face as she turned to look at him.
"Tre I think you should leave... "
"Are you afraid of Ricky coming back?" Tre asked turning his body fully to face hers.
"No." Charlie scowled. "This isn't about Ricky. It's about me wanting you to leave and me never wanting to see your face again... "
"That's pretty harsh... " Tre said raising his eyebrows. "All because of one night I got drunk at your stupid anniversary... "
"No Tre you didn't just get drunk at my anniversary... you humiliated me and Ricky in front of everyone and you were a complete fuck! May I just point out that it actually hasn't been the first time as well... ?"
"That's rich!" Tre said laughing sarcastically. "And now you never wanna see me again? I'm trying to apologize here!"
"Good way of doing it!" Charlie said raising her voice. "God you've become so full of yourself lately it's unbelievable!"
"Oh and I guess Ricky is a right little saint now isn't he! Tre's just some stupid little rock star and Ricky's the great big successful business man!"
"You're so pathetic!" Charlie shouted coming forward. "I should've known that all you wanted to do as soon as you stepped in the house was slate my husband and make out he's some sort of jerk."
"I guess I am the only one who sees through him then... " Tre said shrugging.
Charlie shook her head at him as her jaw dropped. "You really are just a stupid little rock star now... "
Tre looked at Charlie angrily. "Well if that's all you see me as now Chaz then that is a shame isn't it!"
"It's not what I see you as Tre it's what you are. You're still just a stupid little jealous boy!"
"Jealous of whom? You're good for nothing cheating husband?" Tre said scowling at her.
"What next Tre!?" Charlie shouted. "First he's an asshole and now he's a cheater? Maybe you should fuck off before I get really pissed off!"
"I'll tell you something... " Tre said coming forward. "Ever since you met wonderful peachy Ricky you've basically cowered under him... I think he gets a kick out of pushing you around doesn't he Charlie?"
"Tre you tell me something. Something about Lisea... about how wonderful and dandy your marriage is with her huh? No wait... you didn't even plan on marrying her did you? There you are married with a child yet your still flirting with me at every chance you've got... and now that Lisea obviously is realizing what an asshole you are you've now gotta start on me and Ricky because you have nothing better to do with your life!"
Tre turned around and took a step away from Charlie but then spun around again to face her. "I think I have much better things to be doing in my life than worrying about you and Rick the prick!"
"Then this'll be the last time then! Now fuck off and get out of my house!" Charlie shouted.
"No!" Tre shouted back. "I'm not finished yet!"
"What else have you got to say to me!? Insult me some more than go right ahead. I can't hate you more than already do so throw me everything you've got!"
"Who said I was insulting you!?"
"I thought you were dumb... but I think being in Green Day for too long has made you that little bit dumber! "
"Oh so now Green Day is my problem is it!?" Tre shouted. "Well I just don't know what is next with you!"
"Why are you making this so difficult!? Is that what you came here to do this morning? To have an argument?"
"You made this into an argument!" Tre said frustratedly. "I came to apologize to you but it seems like you've already sided with your husband!"
"There are no sides Tre!" Charlie shouted. "Get that into your thick head! It's just me and you and that's it!"
"No it used to be me and you!" Tre argued. "It used to be me and you Charlie but it's not anymore!"
"Then you decided to make that complicated not me! Don't blame me for having a life; you couldn't keep me as your side dish! I'm not your meal ticket Tre I wasn't going to be the one to satisfy your every need when you and Lisea were going through a shit phase! That's all I ever seemed to you anyway - why are you making such a big deal out of it now? Sometimes I wonder if you guys have grown so egotistical that nothing but yourselves matter anymore!"
"That's not true!" Tre shouted. "You know it's not! I thought maybe seeing as I've been you're friend since I was about sixteen you would've defended me and not you're husband of one year!"
"Defended? Defended you against what? Making a complete twat of yourself?"
"Defended me for being you're friend. It just seems like now you don't care about anyone but yourself. All of a sudden Sid left and nothing matters anymore! When was the last time you came to a Green Day concert!?" Charlie could feel the tears stinging her eyes but she held them back along with the lump in her throat. "No, ever since Ricky stepped into your life only he matters! All priorities are on this wonderful man you met once Sid fucked off and left and suddenly your other four friends don't matter anymore especially me!"
Charlie went forward and slapped Tre hard around the face. His head jerked sideways as he stumbled back slightly and he looked at Charlie who was staring at him. However, instead of saying anything he went forward and crushed his lips against hers kissing her forcefully.
He slammed her up against the fridge as she placed her hands on Tre's chest pushing him off her with all her strength. He stumbled back as they both breathed heavily looking at each other for a long time. The atmosphere in the room was positively electrifying. Tre went forward again and this time Charlie resisted from pushing him off as they began kissing frantically. He slammed her against the fridge once again feeling her mouth opening letting his tongue enter her mouth as he pushed it in forcefully competing for control. He rubbed his body against hers as the friction between them sent shivers down their spine.
He picked her legs up as she wrapped them around his waist and he ran his fingers up her legs pulling her from the fridge as they slammed their bodies into the counter and a few things fell off the work surface. Charlie's hands fumbled on the work top as Tre ran his mouth down her neck biting at her skin and he began stripping off her top. She dug her hands into the back of his neck as their lips met again and they kissed harder than before. She grabbed hold of his t-shirt pulling it over his head grabbing him again as they exchanged deep, passionate kisses.
He pulled Charlie from the counter as the two of them fell to the kitchen floor. This was all moving much too fast for their brains to even catch hold of the situation that was taking place. Before they even knew it, clothes were being torn of their bodies, hands were traveling in places hands weren't meant to go and the body heat being exchanged between the two was quite intense.
It was a blurry phase... Tre's ragged breath in Charlie's ear made her dig her nails into his back more deeply but he merely hissed. She wanted to hurt him but at the same time wanted to make him feel like he had never felt before. His bare skin was rubbing against hers... they were becoming one. Tre could feel himself press his forehead against the kitchen floor as Charlie's moans escaped from her lips and her voice traveled through his brain making him want to explode into a thousand tiny pieces.
What was going on? It was too quick for the two of them to even question it. Before he could even appreciate how good the feeling was... Tre found himself lying on the kitchen floor face down trying to catch his breath. It was only a short while until he realized that Charlie was underneath him breathing at the same pace as he was.
It was the most awkward situation the two had ever been in since they had known each other. Tre rolled over not even looking at Charlie as she sat up.
Tre closed his eyes tightly as his head spun with thoughts. After what felt like an eternity he dressed himself on the floor and sat up. He had avoided looking at Charlie as the two of them were completely silent to each other throughout the whole 'session'. He heard the faint sound of crying come from behind him as he turned his head slowly to see Charlie kneeling in the corner with her back facing him with her head in her hands.
Finally it hit Tre what they had just done. He turned his head back to look ahead of him as he widened his eyes. Oh Tre... what have you done?
"What do you want?" she asked bitterly looking at Tre. He stood on her doorstep for a while not quite knowing what to say as he played with the rim of his aqua green t-shirt shuffling his feet on the door mat.
"Can I come in?" he asked quietly looking up as his eyes met Charlie's. She dropped her shoulders opening the door wider for him. He looked very tired and hung over and she didn't feel one bit sorry for him.
