Violence of Summer, chapter 38
It was pissing it down with rain by the time Tre had arrived at the house as he knocked on the door loudly. He waited a few minutes before the door opened slowly and he was faced with Charlie. She wore a long top that covered her nine month pregnant belly and her legs were bare. It was amazing how she hadn't put any weight on any where. She was still as skinny as ever with just a huge bump. She looked at Tre stunned for a minute or two as Tre looked back at her.
"What are you doing here?" Charlie croaked. Her eyes were red and puffy where you could tell she had been crying. Tre stepped in the house as she stepped back quite taken aback by his sudden gesture of letting himself in the house. He looked around at the eerily quiet house looking back at Charlie as she slammed the front door shut. "What are you doing here?" she repeated. Tre walked into the middle of the open living room looking around some more before looking back at Charlie who was still stood by the door.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine." She mumbled.
Tre chuckled at her sarcastically walking around some more. "Understatement of the year." He said before stopping to take a look at her. "Look at you, you're in a state."
Charlie sniffled as she tried not to start crying again and started walking across the living room to go into the kitchen. "I think you should leave."
Tre went over to her stopping her before she could go any further. "Where is he?" Tre asked.
"Who?" Charlie trembled.
"You know who!" Tre said impatiently. "Ricky! Where is he?"
Charlie couldn't hold it in any longer. She broke down crying on the spot as Tre looked at her putting his hands on top of his head. "I don't know... " she said through her tears.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Tre asked firmly.
Charlie put her hand on her face trying to wipe away her tears looking at the floor. She just continued crying as Tre looked around frantically not knowing what to do with himself. Charlie suddenly came forward and wrapped her arms around Tre tightly taking him by surprise.
"He's gone Tre." She sobbed into his shoulder. "He just left... and I'm scared... I'm so scared... "
Tre licked his lips swallowing the lump in his throat as he wrapped his arms around Charlie tightly holding her closer to him than ever. He could've killed him... right there and then Tre could've killed him.
Charlie continued crying into Tre's arms as he looked down at her and held her tightly. "He left me Tre... " she whispered. "He's left me... "

Tre buried his head into the pillow as far as he possibly could trying to block out all sound that was coming from downstairs. His brain scanned frantically through the events of the previous night as he lay there in his bed face down and fully clothed.
She cried in his arms all night... she just sat and cried as he rocked her to sleep. Never had he experienced such a devastated girl in all his life. His nine month pregnant favourite girl was crying because her husband had left... and where to, neither of them knew. He tried to ask what had happened but she said nothing...
After a couple of hours however she just fell asleep. Hell knows she needed it... and Tre stayed by her side all night. Then instead of going back to Billie's that morning he went back home... why, he wasn't quite sure. Maybe it was because he didn't want Adrienne and Billie asking him questions all night. So he went home... he went home and crawled into bed and thought... thought about things...
At about mid day he finally decided to get up and take a shower. Slowly he un-dressed and stepped in the hot shower soaking his skin feeling the relief of the water wash over him. Once he had cleaned himself off he stepped out and wrapped a towel around his waist. He came out of the bathroom suddenly to be faced with Lisea. He smiled warmly at her kissing her on the lips quickly as she stared at him.
"I was worried about you... " Lisea whispered.
"I was at Billie's." Tre mumbled.
"Why didn't you call?" Lisea asked as Tre walked around her going into the bedroom.
"I just needed some alone time." He shrugged picking up another towel ruffling his hair. He sat down on the bed heavily as Lisea went over to him sitting behind him snaking her arms around his waist.
"Tre you've had so much alone time on tour... " she said in his ear. "What about Mona? What about me?"
Tre looked at his lap swallowing hard as she kissed his neck softly. "I needed to clear my head... " he said quietly.
"Do you still love me Tre?" Lisea breathed in Tre's ear.
Tre paused slightly looking straight ahead of him. After a while he suddenly realized it had been a while since she had asked the question. He turned his head ever so slightly to look straight into Lisea's eyes to see they were glazed over. "Of course I do... " he whispered.
Lisea looked down at the bedcovers as the two of them sat there for a few moments in total silence and Tre could feel the hairs on his arm stand on end at the tension between them. Slowly Lisea moved away from Tre getting up off the bed and standing up. Tre frowned after her turning around.
"Wh-... what... where you going?" Tre asked as Lisea headed for the door. She didn't answer him as she opened the door stepping out of the bedroom shutting it behind her.
Tre collapsed on the bed putting his hands over his face sighing out deeply. God, why are you doing this to me?
