My Friend Chaze...With An "E", chapter 2
I couldn't sleep at all last night, I just kept thinking about Tiffani. Almost every 15 minutes I looked at the clock waiting for it to be time to start getting ready for school, which is very weird because I hated school. Finally it was 6:30. I was so excited that I just jumped up in the air and didn't even realize that I hit my head on the ceiling. I crawled around the house looking for my favorite pair of pants and annoying all my brothers and sister who were all older than me if they seen them anywhere. 'Til finally I looked in my closet and saw them there in the were in the wide open. I got dressed and ran out the door and was hoping that I wouldn't run into Chaze (I told you I would stop doing that) I was half way to school before I realized that I forgot my CD player and my CD's, but nothing as small as my music which meant everything to me was going to make me late for school today. But I decided to go get it anyway because maybe Tiffani would be imprested with me if I had it with me today and I would actually pay attention in English class today. I ran as fast as I could to go back and get it and get to school on time. As I entered the school parking lot and walked up to the front door trying to catch my breath, I saw her walking to the pavement. My heart seemed like it just stopped beating and everything around me just stopped except for her. "Holy shit", I whispered to myself in amazement of how beautiful she was. My mind was all on her for a really good 3 minutes until Chaze destroyed the peacefulness. "Hey." he said in a creepy nerd way. "HOLY SHIT!" which I screamed this time, why do you always come up to me in really good times and not in the times I'm not doing anything?" "But... You weren't, doing anything but... Drooling and staring into... Space." I just looked at him and walked to the door. I walked around the 9th grade hallway just looking to see her once more before first period. All period I was sad and disappointed for the rest of the day and so willing to get to 9th the last period of the day, the one and only class I have with her. 8th period I was at the edge of my seat all through the discussion of why it was important that Columbus sailed to America, waiting for the bell to ring. This class seemed the longest class ever possible and then it happened, the bell finally rung!
"YES, YES, YES!" I quietly yelled and knocked out half of the kids in front of me just so I could get to the class that I hated the most. I peaked inside the door suspiciously and looked around to see if Tiffani was already in there, she was of course looking very bored as the old man talked to her about how important it was to get good grades in this class and behave in this room. I walked in making as much noise as possible so she would notice me and turn around so I can see her face again. "Mr. Armstrong, I see your the first person in class which I don't think has ever happened before with you, I'm guessing you have your book report then, am I correct?" The old man asked me as if he already knew I didn't have it. "Uh... Yea, but I'm not finished, but I almost am", I said lying. "Okay then let me see it please." I walked to my desk and sat down and looked through my notebook looking for a blank piece of paper, after I found one I wrote down very sloppy my book report on the top and my name on the next line. After that I wrote large "my book report is about," and got up and walked it to the old man. He grabbed it with a eyebrow raised and looked down at it. "Okay, so you didn't do it? ' He said very disappointed. "Uh, no." I knew he was going to do something really bad. "Hold on I'll be right back." he said walking away to the phone and starting dialing. "Shit, I'm dead!" I whispered to myself. "Why don't you just do it then?" I looked down at her sitting next to me slowly. "You didn't seem too happy when old man was talking to you" I replied back. "Old man?" Tiffani asked like she never heard those two words put together. "Him, the teacher, Mr. Wilcher." "Oh." she said. "Mr. Armstrong!" "Here we go." I whispered to myself and loud enough so Tiffani could me too. She giggled a little. "I see we have a problem forming, you've only handed in one assignment this whole month of school and it was juts a piece of paper with your name on it so I learned it, and I think we have to do something about it. Now what I'm going to do is give you one week to make up all the things you owe me and I will give you almost all of the credit for it, does that sound okay for you or can you not handle that?" "yeah, I think I can" okay good and you're still coming for detention today right?" "yes." okay good the bells going to ring so have a seat please and Tiffani please have a seat next to Billie Joe please." he finished his sentence. And that's just what we did.
The whole period I looked at her. After the bell rang we both just sat there waiting for the 2 long boring hours that await us next. "Okay Mr. Armstrong please go and work on that book report." I was okay with that, but I didn't have a book to do it on. So I just sat there the whole time. After about 30 minutes of this never-ending punishment Tiffani came back and sat next to me. When I was staring at her, I notice Chaze walking up to the door. He stand there for about 10 minutes just breathing that annoying wheezy breath of his and finally knocked on the door so quietly old man could barely hear it. "Can I help you?" he asked him. "Uh... I think your... Car is on the... Roof" "WHAT?!?!?!?!" he screamed, my beautiful cherry red sports car? Oh my goodness!" he jumped in the air and flew out the door and as he got farther down the hall way all you heard was his voice screaming "oh my god, my car, my car!" I was pretending to be working as she was doing too, but I couldn't keep my eyes off her at all. She noticed I was staring at her and she turned my way. "Hi", she said to me quickly, "hey", I answered back she lend closer to me and didn't make a noise. "Are you listening to Operation Ivy? I love them, I didn't know anybody liked them at this school." she answered like she just got an awesome present. "Yea they're my favorite band I can't believe you listen to them too! That's so cool!" I replied in amazement. So for 1 hour we talked about operation ivy and for the other 30 minutes, we talked about and laughed at old man running around the parking lot looking for his "baby" or other wise known as his cheery red sports car. Today was the best thing that had happened all year so far, and believe me this year was not going good at all until yesterday. But how do I make Chaze go away? What an annoying piece of shit!
