A New Start In England, chapter 2
Charlie just sat there not really listening to what the teacher was saying. She looked round the room and all she could seem to see were townies and posers, this just depressed her more. She couldn't wait for the three years to pass and then she could go back home to America. Everyone in the room was staring at her, and the lad next to her kept asking her to say things like yoghurt and tomato in her "cool" american accent. She bluntly refused.
She heared the door open and looked up. It was just another member of her form, however she seemed to be the only person who wasn't a townie or poser.
"Why you so late, Hayley?" queeried Mrs Hook
"Erm...not sure traffic I guess" Hayley replied in a slightly sarcastic tone that everyone but Mrs Hook picked up on. Hayley looked at Charlie with a confused expression on her face, but she just took her seat.
After registration Charlie walked over to Sammy and asked where her first lesson was which was maths
"Hey don't ask me. Miss just said I should show you round but I can't be arsed find your own way"
"Ok will do" Charlie replied in a happy tone with Sammy was not expacting and just gave her a dirty look and walked off.
"Hey don't worry I'll show you round if you want" called Hayley from the other side of the room
"Cool thanks" Charlie called back
"Just ignore Sammy, and actually most people in this form for that fact. They're all sad asses you badly need a life, they all like music like 50 cent and Eminem...So your from America I guess"
"Yeah, California"
"Cool"
"If you say so!" With this comment Hayley laughed and said
"So what kind of music you into"
"Oh mainly rock and punk, you?"
"yeah me too" Hayley pointed at the folder she was carrying, Charlie noticed it was covered in pictures of Green Day, she just smiled to herself.
"well heres your maths room if you want I'll meet you after all your lessons and show you to your next, so we can get to know each other better"
"Yeah that would be great thanks"Charlie replied as she walked into her class.
All other lessons seemed to drag until it was the end of the day. Charlie breathed a sigh of relief, she could go home and relax.
She walked out of school and found her moms car and got in. Adrienne leaned over and gave her a hug
"So how was your first day?"
"Oh not too bad"
"Good"
They drove the rest of the way home in silence except for the boys who were craving attension and were trying to tell them every detail of their day from what they had for lunch to what colour pens they wrote in. Charlie had learned to blank out this from years of practice and just started listening to her MP3 player. Once they got back to the house. Billie Joe wandered over to Charlie and also gave her a hug
"So was it as bad as you thought it was going to be?" He asked her
"Nah actually it wasn't too bad"
"Great!"
"I'm gonna be in my room if anyone wants me" She told them all
"Ok sweetie" Adrienne replied. Charlie decided to ring her boyfriend Tom from back in America she missed him so bad since she had left.
"Hey, it's Charlie" she started onced he'd picked up the phone
"Oh hiya what's up?"
"Not alot just thought I'd call you because I miss you"
"awww I miss you too" they continued talking for about an hour. Once they had finally hung up Charlie realized it was a bad idea to have rung him as she just missed him more hearing his voice and she fell back on her bed and began to cry.
Tre had heard her crying and came into her room.
"hey whats up?" he said sitting by her giving her a hug. He had always been like a big brother to her and she could tell him everything even things she wouldn't tell Tom or any of her best mates.
