"WHAT????"
"This is the ransom letter!"
This is what it said:
Billie, Mike and Tre have been taken hostage. Bring us $2 000 000 CASH before tomorrow night, or they're going to be shot. Drive along the M15 and turn off at the 7th exit. Keep driving and you'll see a dirt track leading off into the woods. Turn here. Keep driving and you'll find a house. This is where we're hostaging from. If you bring any weapons or if you bring the cops, we'll shoot them when you arrive.
"Oh my god,"
"Let's go!"
"Wait, where are we getting two million bones from?" I asked Adie.
There was a silence.
"Why don't we drive there and we'll reason with them."
"That could work."
"Ok, let's go."
We followed the directions to a big double-story abandoned house. We got out of the car and knocked on the door.
"Waddaya want?" said a mystery voice from inside.
"We've come to reason with you about the ransom," Adie said to the man.
"Are the cops here?"
"NO."
"Let em' in, Tony."
There was a rustling at the door, and a man in a black balaclava became visible.
"Get in here."
We walked into a dark room.
"Alright, now where are the guys?" I asked.
One of them chuckled.
"You expect us to tell you THAT easily? See for yourself,"
And with that, he turned on a television monitor, and we could see them all tied up in a room, with a table in it. The table was covered with all sorts of weapons. Guns, blades, knives, even a military sword. I felt like fainting, but I did the opposite.
"YOU CAN'T KILL THEM LIKE THAT!" I yelled at them.
"Hey, you better watch your tongue, or the end for them is coming sooner than tomorrow night."
I shut up as soon as I heard that.
"We've come to negotiate the hostage price."
One of them started laughing.
"Oh, you weren't joking."
"No, I wasn't."
"Get out of here, or I'll slay your husband."
With that, we ran out of the house, into the car and sped off.
-In the Car-
There was silence until we entered back into Oakland.
"What are you thinking about?" Adie asked me.
"I was just...No, doesn't matter."
"Come on, tell me."
"Well, I thought that I recognized one of the voices."
"Really?"
"Yeah, they had an Australian accent; I can't really remember who it was though."
"Well, if you remember ANYTHING, let me know, ok?"
"Okay."
-Mike's POV-
"Billie? You there?"
"Yeah, I'm here, Tre, you there?"
"Yeah, I'm here,"
"What happened?" Billie asked
"I can't remember, Mike do you remember?"
"I remember them storming the bus then I got king hit and that's all I remember."
"Same here," Billie said.
"Tre?"
"Me too."
"What are we going to do?" I asked.
"I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens."
With that, the guys entered the room.
"Comfortable?" one of them asked us.
"Not really, but you know... " Tre said back.
"Don't answer back, I'm sure your mother taught you that."
"Don't bring my mom into this!"
"Shut up, Cool."
"Why don't you?"
"Tre," Billie interrupted.
"What?"
Billie turned his head and blankly looked at Tre, well at least looked in Tre's direction.
"So, shall we get this over with?" Said one of the guys.
"What do you mean?" I replied.
"Well, since you guys are making so much noise, we're separating you."
"WHAT?"
"Listen, while you're being ransomed, we can do whatever we like with you guys, so you better do what you're told or the ends coming sooner than you think."
We fell silent.
"Ok, I'll take the bassist into a different room, and you stay here with the others."
"Why me?"
"Because."
"Because what?"
"Just shut up!"
I shut up. One of the guys grabbed the rope that was tying my hands together and led me into a separate room, and with that I took another look at Billie and Tre, knowing that if the ransom wasn't paid in a few hours, I may never see them again.
-My POV-
I was lying in bed, thinking about what was happening. I just couldn't get it out of my head. You would be the same, if your dad and his best friends were being held for ransom and if it wasn't paid they would be shot. It makes your guts feel so cold like jelly. I started to think about the voice that had been making the demands. Where had I heard it before? He had an Australian accent, so I started to think about who I knew at home that would have access to a military sword. Names started running through my mind, until there was one that stood out above the rest. Oh my god. NO. It couldn't be. Could it? I ran into Billie and Adie's bedroom.
"Adie! Adie! I've figured out who it is!"
"What...Who?"
"My ex-stepbrother, Sam!"
"I've got the 2 million, so let's go before it's too late!"
We sped down the highway to the house and stopped.
"I'll go in first."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I can handle him."
With that, I got out of the car and knocked at the door.
The door was opened by Sam.
"Sam, why are you doing this?"
"Sam? Who's Sam?"
"Don't play stupid, Sam, I know its you."
"I don't know who you're talking about!"
"Sam, don't make me do this."
"Hey! If you make one more move, I'll slice up your dad right in front of you."
"Right, so it's a revenge thing is it?"
"Don't start, Eliza."
"It is isn't it? You just don't want me to be happy, don't you?"
He didn't say anything.
"DON'T YOU?"
He still didn't say anything.
"Now, you let them all free, or I'll ring your dad and the Townsville base and let them know what you've done."
"... Okay."
I went back to the car, and got Adie out.
"What happened?"
"Don't worry; they're going to be let out without the ransom."
"Well that's a relief."
The door of the house opened, and Sam stepped out without his balaclava.
"Alright, come and get them then."
We stepped into the house. It was still really dark, but you could vaguely see what was there. There were three doors and they were tied closed with a strip of leather.
"Alright Sam, which one is Mike in?"
"That one," he said, pointing the one on the far left.
I ran towards it and tried to open it. After trying several times, I got a knife from the table and slashed all 3 pieces of leather on each door. I ran into Mike's room. I found him all bound and gagged up to a chair (sorry, I couldn't resist).
"Mike!!!"
"Mphhh Mph Mphhh!"
"Hang on," and with that, I untied the knot on the material that was around his mouth. "Now repeat what you said."
"Oh my god... I thought I would never see you or anyone else again!"
"I'm just glad that you're alive."
"What about Billie and Tre?"
"Yeah, they're alright."
"That's good."
"Ok let's get you untied."
On the way home (we had to catch a cab) we sat in silence for almost the entire time.
"Thanks," Mike said to me a few miles from home.
"Seriously, anytime."
"This is the ransom letter!"
