20 minutes later, there was a ring of the doorbell. I rushed down to answer it, but Mike was already at the door, greeting Justin's parents. We all walked down into the family room, and tried to discuss the situation at hand calmly.
"Eliza, Justin, why don't you two go upstairs for a while and watch TV while we all discuss what should happen," Mike said to us.
"Yeah, alright," we said, and left the room. We walked upstairs and listened through the balustrade.
"Look, I think it's the best solution," Justin's Mom said.
"Yeah, that way they can't get up to any mischief," Mike replied.
There was a short pause.
"What are they going to do?" I asked Justin.
"They're giving us the boot. They're breaking us up," he replied.
"What? They CAN'T to that!"
"I know."
"I don't believe it."
"Neither do I."
"Well, I'm not just going to sit here and steal you away from me."
"What do you mean, Izzy?"

"We're going to run away. Together."

After talking it over a bit, I went into my room and gathered a few of my clothes, some cash, and shoved it into a back pack. We both wrote a note for the parents:

Dear Everyone,

We heard what you were going to do, so we've left together. Unless you find an alternate solution, that lets us have privacy and means that we can still be together, we won't come back. We love you, but if it means we can't be together, we can't stay here.

Signed, Eliza and Justin.

I left it on my bedspread and headed for the door. I took one last look at the painting of Mike and I, and closed the door behind me. We snuck out of the front door, and walked down the street.
"Where will we go?" I asked Justin.
"As far away as we can. We'll head up north."
"Okay."
We approached the bus stop, and caught the bus that lead to North Berkeley. After getting off at the depot, we walked north for a few hours, and found an abandoned house on the outskirts of town, and headed inside. Little did we know of what was happening back home.

*Mike's POV*

"Ok, I'll go and get the kids, and break the news to them. They won't be happy, but it's the only way," I said.
"Eliza! Justin! Come downstairs!" I called up the stairwell. There wasn't a reply.
"Eliza?... Justin?" I called out again, walking up the stairs. The door of the end room was open, and there was no one in any of the spare rooms. I opened Eliza's door, to find no one there, but a note. I read it, quietly.
"Oh god..."
I ran back downstairs, towards Justin's parents.
"What's happened?" Mrs. McGrath said to me.
"The kids have gone."
"Gone?"
"They've taken some clothes and cash and gone. Run away."
"I'll call the police." Mr. McGrath said to me.
"Would you?"

After a long day of questioning and searching, there was no sign of them anywhere.
'It isn't enough' I thought. ' I can't let them just be wandering the streets all night.'
I grabbed the car keys, and started to drive around the city. There was no sign of them, so I grabbed the phone and dialed Billie and Tre's numbers for back up. I wasn't going to stop until I found them, safe.

*My POV*

We lay down on the floor of the living room, with a sheet for warmth between us. Until we could find some accommodation, this was home. We weren't going to give in. Not for the world. Our love was so strong, we were going to defy our families and venture out into a world of the unknown.

Where we could be together forever.
