Death at the concert (well nearly!), chapter 4
ALEX'S POV
I just lay there, speechless. Oh my. I felt like I was gonna pass out. Oh my God. Billie Joe Armstrong from the best band in the world, Green Day, was there by my hotel room and I don't know how long ago had just been saved from a lunatic at his concert by ME. Oh my. Now I knew what was going to happen. I would black out, then when I woke up, he would be gone. Oh no. Oh no.
"Kid, what is up with you?" asked Billie Joe. I started shivering. He sat down on the bed. "You know you just did a really good thing."
"Yeah, get myself killed" I snorted. Billie Joe looked disgusted. "Sorry, Billie."
"Kiddo, you... By the way, what is your name?" He stared at me. Those green eyes were freaking me out.
"Alex. Alexandra Sutton. But just call me Alex. If you want." I covered my eyes with the bed cover. I couldn't believe that a famous Punk rock star had just asked me what my name was and If I was okay. I mean, the whole world knows Billie Joe, but me. I doubt if even my parents remember me. Plus, he was staring at me. There was silence for a minute. Billie suddenly spoke.
"Alex, you saved someone else, and you were prepared to die for me." He made it sound like a soppy love film. "No!" I yelled. The family by the bed next to me stared at me. "No, I mean"I whispered, not wanting to draw attention to myself. "Your life is worth more than mine." And my whole story burst out. My parents. My brothers and sisters. My flat. My mate. Everything.
BILLIE JOE'S POV
Aw, poor kid. She doesn't look like she's any older than twenty five. The whole story she told me brought tears to my eyes. She has no where to go. She seemed determined to tell me I was worth more than her. But I knew she wasn't. Everyone is the same. I didn't want her to see me crying. She had such a good opinion of me that I was afraid that she wouldn't think the same of me. "Alright, Alex." I said. "I'll flag a taxi and we'll go back to the band place." Her eyes opened really wide and she nodded. She shouldn't have been through all that. She was only a kid. "Just lie down here for a minute. Don't move too much. The stitches will burst open." So Alex lay down and I went to the nurse patrolling the ward. "Erm.. Miss Nurse.." I said. "Is Alex Sutton going to be dissmissed soon?" The nurse laughed. "Alexandra Sutton? Do you know what has happened to her? She got hit by a close distance bullet. There is NO WAY!" And 'Miss Nurse' strode off. I walked over to Alexandra's bed. "Alex?" I whispered. "We are gonna smuggle you outta here!"
