Tomorrow Comes Today (sequel to Livin With The Gorillaz), chapter 3
I had a dream that I was trapped underneath a blanket of snow. I was freezing, it felt so real. Then I came back to reality. The backs of my eyelids were lit up. I opened them slightly to see concrete and the sun coming up. I sat up to see 2-D sleeping peacefully by my side, arm around me. Our clothes cover us. I started to get dressed when he woke up,
"Morning... " he mumbled. I smiled and yawned. The little boom box was playing Re-Hash now. I guess it was replaying the CD over and over again all night.
"Any idea what time it is?" Before he could answer me...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
I looked over the edge of the rooftop and see Ashley knocking on the front door. Oh shit... I'm guessing Noodle answered the door.
"Um, hey Noodle. Is Lex around?"
"2-D! Hurry and get dressed!" I whispered. When Ashley entered the house I started to make my way down the ladder when I almost fell off the roof to find out that the ladder was freakin gone! "2-D the ladder is gone!!!" 2-D looked at me while putting his shirt on in confusment.
"What do you mean? Its right-" he paused as he saw the ladder was actually gone.
"Ashley is here and I haven't had the chance to get a bath yet!" I panicked.
"Looks like we need to jump." 2-D then climbed over the edge like a monkey and dropped to the ground landing in the bushes. I watched the bushes to make sure he was still alive. I did the same but didn't drop to the ground yet, I just hung there, but I lost my grip and fell into the bushes as well. The front door opened,
"Lex? 2-D?" said Ashley. Our heads popped out of the bushes.
"Hey Ash." We said at the same time. I got up and helped 2-D out of the bushes and ran inside calling behind me,
"BE RIGHT BACK! I'M GONNA GET A BATH REAL QUICK!"
I ran all the way to my room, I took the stairway cause it's faster. I slowed down to see Murdoc's Winnebago still quietly parked. It was strange and too quiet without him. I walked into my room and began to undress as I walked into the bathroom, shut the door and ran the hot water. When the tub was ready I got in and began to bathe... I felt dizzy from all the heat. Then the weirdest thing occurred... I saw someone standing behind the shower glass. I smelt smoke.
"Hello?" I said. Usually when I smelled smoke it meant Murdoc was around. Its head tilted back and the smoke got stronger.
"I told you two jokers to come back for me..." it said in a low voice. I slammed open the shower door but saw nothing but steam. I drained the tub, got dressed. I ran out of my room I was freaked out by what had occurred. While I was locking my bedroom door; something weird was going on with the lights. They flickered and buzzed like crazy.
"Hello?" I call out. My eyes glare at the Winnebago. BAM, the lights are out now. Can't see a thing, and I smell smoke. My back is at the door. "What the fuck?" I say a little freaked out.
"I told you two to come back for me now I want revenge... " said a low voice.
"Murdoc?" I say shakily. "You're in jail... " pair of hands start to grab my waist. I heard breathing, it had to be him! Suddenly the lights flicked back I find myself closely backed up on my bedroom door. No Murdoc in sight. I backed off and walked over to the elevator.
Arriving on the first floor I meet Ashley and 2-D talking.
"Hey you ready?" I asked a little shaky. 2-D and Ashley stare at me.
"You ok Lex?" asks 2-D.
"Fine. I'll be back later." I walked out the door, Ashley followed. We hoped into the car and drove out of the cluttered driveway. Ashley sighs,
"SO, why were you two on the roof?" she asked. I look out the window...
"Sight seeing."
"2-D seemed a little rugged though." I smiled. She saw me and gasped, "What did you two do up there?!"
"Lets just say we played the game called: Weirdest places to have sex." I laughed.
"You two are unbelievable," she laughed.
We arrived at the mall then headed straight for SPENCER'S. Then Hot Topic the store with the most killer Halloween stuff EVER! We walked in and looked around. I found some war paint and eyeliner that I could use. 2-D could use the war paint too.
"Hey Ash, I'm gonna buy some of this and head on over to Hot Topic."
"OK! MEET YA THERE!" she called back. Walking next door, I walk in and was greeted. I bought some combat boots, and a black bandanna. I could make the rest out of my own clothes. Ashley bought a black dress, she was going to be Helena.
*ON THE WAY HOME...*
"Hey, why did you look so spooked when you came back from the car park?" she asked after cursing at a driver whom past us while talking on their cell phone. I froze,
"I dunno... "
"Yes you do. Tell me." She demanded.
"I think I'm going bloody crazy."
"Nothing new. NOW GET TO THE POINT!"
"MURDOC IS HAUNTING ME!!!!!" The car screeched off the road and to the side of the highway. We came to a sudden halt. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!! YOU COULD'VE KILLED US!!!" I screamed. She looks at me like she was a psycho.
"I knew he was a strange man!" she screeched as she drove back onto the road.
"YOU ALMOST KILLED US TO SAY THAT?!"
"If I were you, I wouldn't stick around much longer when Halloween comes."
"Why?"
"He might get'cha again."
Holy shit... I thought.
I got home after an hour and headed to my room. It was about 3:00 pm. I dropped the stuff n my bed then opened my closet to find what I could use for my costume. I found an old black skirt that was ripped up when I was about 3 years younger and Ashley and me were running form 2 German Shepherds after stealing my sneaker. It was perfect. Then I found a black and white shirt. I'll take the scissors to it later. I laid it out on the foot of my bed.
"Wonder what 2-D is up to..." I said to myself. I walk out and knock on his door.
"JUST A SEC... " he said. I waited until he opened the door with a large black suit on. The collar was flared out with a little skull on it. He looked just like Jack Skelington.
"Where'd you get the costume? You look just like him!"
"I've had it for a Halloween photo shoot." He replied. He hugged me then kissed my forehead.
"I love it." I said. "I was gonna head up for a small game in the lounge wanna join me?"
"Yea sure. Start up the game station while I get out of this." I kissed him and ran into the elevator. The light flickered in the elevator. The music sounded a little fuzzy. I ignored it though. I walked down the hallway to the lounge when the lights went out again... I saw a small flame flick... and then I screamed...
