What life would be like..., chapter 5
Emily looked over and nudged Alannah they both turned to Conner only to see him eyeing her and Alannah and licking his lips. The courtroom was getting boring when was the judge say his verdict. He finally yelled out "Mr. Larew, we fine you with a total of $10000, to pay for Miss Walterhouse's car, court adjourned." "What this is an outrage," yelled Alannah. "How can you let him off with just a fine!" yelled Emily. "Miss Weitzell and Miss Walterhouse, unless you want to pay for your own car I sugest you leave the courtroom quietly." The girls turned around and left the courtroom. Once they got out Conner pushed them aside "You know we could always get together and um hang out sometime," he said with a wink and a smirk. " Go to hell Conner," said Alannah, who was quite pissed at him." "Is there a problem here," they heard. Alannah and Emily looked over to see Billie Joe, Mike and Tre with their fists clenched. Then Tre said "Cause if there is we can fix it." Conner finally got the picture and walked off.
What the girls didn't know was that there would be a problem with Conner.
"Thanks a lot guys," said Emily. "Its just awful Conner got away with a fine," said Billie Joe. "Well he could have pleaded insanity," said Alannah jokingly. "Too bad Maddy's at work she would be pissed too," said Mike. "Well at least I get more vacation time to spend here," said Alannah. "Well we should spend that time helping you to get to know Oakland some more so you don't get lost again," said Emily. "Well sorry I was being chased by a crazy freakazoid who wanted to screw me," said Alannah. With that they all laughed. Emily, Alannah, and Tre got into Emily's car and Billie Joe and Mike got into Billie Joe's car.
They drove to Emily and Alannah's house. They were sitting around playing crazy eights when Emily said " Why couldn't we play strip poker instead its so much more interesting." Tre agreed with her and began taking off his shirt. Then Alannah raised her hand in protest and said " I've seen enough naked freaks to last me a lifetime thank you." So Tre put his shirt back on. Then Maddy came home. "Hello ducklings," she said. We put down our cards and ran to Maddy to tell her about what happened in the court room.
"That's awful," said Maddy.
They decided to go to the movies. They sat in the middle row eating popcorn and drinking soda. Alannah had to go to the batroom. She asked Emily to go with her. Because she had a new fear of going somewhere alone. They walked through the door to the lobby. Then Billie Joe, Mike, Tre and Maddy noticed an ugly figure they recognized as Conner following them. "One of us should go into the hallway too," said Maddy. "I'll go,"sid Mike flexing his muscles. Alannah and Emily walked out of the bathroom. They heard someone call their name. It was Mike standing in the hall. They looked around and saw Conner standing behind a corner looking angry at Mike. Alannah and Emily sort of gave a jump and ran to Mike. "I should have gotten a restraining order," said Alannah.
