Untitled, chapter 2
Review:
"I'm so glad you're back with us." The woman spoke softly to him. She returned the smile.
"Me too, Adrienne."
"Jon? Who's Adrienne?"
Billie stared at the woman. She didn't look anything like Adrienne. Her brown hair fell across her face, slightly covering her green eyes. From where he had been laying, this woman looked the same height as Adrienne. But her face...it was not the face he married. The smile that had once graced the woman's face was now replaced with a look of worry.
"Jon. Jon, you're scaring me." The woman said. After she spoke the doctor made his way into the room.
"How's Jon doing today?" He asked. He pulled up a chair to the woman.
"He's acting a little strange, like he doesn't know who I am." The woman said.
Tears started to form in the lining of her eyes.
"It's probably just shock. He'll come back to his own self in a day or so." After checking on Billie's state the doctor walked out of the room.
The room remain silent after the doctor had gone. Billie didn't know what to say. He didn't even know what was going on.
"The doctor said you can go home today." The woman nearly whispered. She stared at the floor, never really looking Billie in the eye.
"What....happened?" Finally pushed out.
"You don't remember? We were trying to get home from a Christmas party our friends were having. It was snowing hard. You lost control of the car....we crashed." The woman explained.
"Who are you?" Billie asked.
"The doctor said you might lose your memory. My name is Christy, I'm your girlfriend. We've been going out for two years now." She started to explain. The two sat in the room for what seemed like forever. Billie listened to every word she said. She told him his name was Jon Godwin and that the two of them were living together in her apartment. Something weird happened to Billie. He started having memories of the two of them together. It was strange, none of his memories consisted of his family, or even Tre or Mike. He started to feel something for this woman who sat beside him. Something he never felt for anyone else besides Adrienne.
After Christy told him everything to regain his memory, she turned the TV on. They silently watched it. Billie stared at the images on the screen but didn't pay attention. He was to busy sorting out these new memories. Suddenly something caught his attention on TV. He jumped out of his thought and paid attention to what was being said.
"Last night marked a sad day for the punk world. Lead guitarist/singer Billie Joe Armstrong died last night. The only information we have is that it was caused by a car crash." The reporter on the TV said. The words rang through Billie's ears.
What was going on? Was he dead? How could he be dead, he was right there in that room? He had just talked to this woman, Christy. He can't be dead. Then why was it on the news? And why was everyone calling him Jon? Was this story Christy just told him true? And these memories, what were these memories?
