Green Day Meets Some Hard Rocking Gods, chapter 4
"You mean we'll have to play a Guns N' Roses song? How the hell are we meant to do that? We've never even tried your stuff before." Mike said.
"Yeah Slash, maybe they could play something by another band, if they can." Mark said. He was sitting in a chair at the end of the room.
"Okay, can you play stuff by Queen? Led Zepellin? The Who?" Slash said.
"Sure, we do our own version of 'My Generation'"
"Okay fellas, play it." Axl roared.
Billie Joe began to play My Generation.
Then the guitar solo, the bass and then the drums.
Five minutes later they were finished playing. Slash and Axl clapped.
Slash walked out of the room and returned holding an acoustic guitar.
He handed it to Billie Joe.
"Here Billie, do your stuff on acoustic. Play your own song."
Billie didn't have to think of a song, he played Good Riddance straight away.
When he was finished Axl was standing looking at him, he was impressed.
"You wrote that, huh?" he asked. Billie Joe nodded.
"That's a great song. I can see already that you're a great writer."
"Likewise." Billie said.
"Heh, heh, okay. We'll play Knocking on Heaven's Door. It was one of our greatest hits." Dizzy said.
They played knocking on heavens door, and Billie Joe was staring at Slash the whole time because of his amazing guitar solos.
"Holy crap, how can that guy sing like that? Its like he's two different people!" Tre whispered to Mike over his drum kit. Mike shrugged.
"Gifted, I guess."
As he kept singing, Axl pretended to be loading a gun. He started running around with the Mike in his hands.
"Woohh... I've never actually heard this version before..." said Tre as Slash was doing his solos.
Axl then pretended to be on the phone. And since there was no backup singers, Slash, Dizzy and Duff had to sing very high.
They finished after a few minutes.
Slash put his guitar back on the stand.
"So guys, whaddya think?" he asked.
"Uh, real good... Really, really good." They said, with all of their jaws down.
"OKay, tell you what. Play three songs of your own. And close your mouths!" Axl teased.
So they talked and decided to do Welcome to Paradise like they said before.
They started playing, and they totally rocked. Axl and Slash were listening very closely. They were extremely interested with the bass, It sounded great.
"WELCOME TO PARADISE!" Billie Joe sang.
They looked. And Green day were playing great. Slash was impressed. Then Dizzy looked at them.
"They're pretty goo-" Slash was saying until Mike started the bass solo. His eyes were wide open and the drums were getting real good. Tre bashed the cymbals at the last part. By now, all of the Guns N' Roses were staring.
Soon they had finished. Slash and Axl looked at eachother and clapped and whistled.
"Wahoo! That songs was yours? It's great, the bass in it totally rocked!"
Slash shouted.
"ENCORE!" Dizzy yelled.
"OKay one last song, this one is gonna be a bit softer though." Billie shouted.
They played Poprocks and Coke and were done after a few minutes.
Axl walked over to Billie Joe and put his hand on his shoulder.
"You guys are great. So are you pretty big?" he asked.
"Well, not exactly. But we're getting there."
Slash walked over. "Well, with a drummer, a bassist and a songwriter like you guys are, I'd say you'll make it." he said.
"Billie Joe, I can tell in a few years, you'll write some of the best songs known in Rock history!" he shouted. There was a ringing sound and Slash picked up a cell phone.
"Hello? Oh, hey. Yeah? Really? Damn. Okay, see yeh in a few minutes."
He put down the phone.
"Guys, there's a limo waiting for us outside. We've gotta go." he said.
They all shook hands.
"It was nice meeting the amazing Green Day!" they shouted as they walked out the door. So the guys were left with the instruments. Billie Joe though about what Axl had said.
In a few years.
FOUR YEARS LATER,
Guns N' Roses had finally broken up.
Axl was in a really bad mood. He turned on his TV and flicked on the channels. He stopped on MTV and saw a guy with a red tie. Jet black hair and green eyes playing a guitar, and a blonde guy with a sleeveless shirt holding a bass, and a drummer with dark hair and in black. And behind them was a giant American flag, and it was... Green?
Axl stared at the TV and smiled.
"Just like I said Billie."
