It Started Out With Coffee At Starbucks, chapter 2
While they were walking down the street, Bridget spoke up after her and Rachel had both been silent since they left the hotel and said "How can everyone seem so fine here... They just had an earthquake and they're just going about whatever they would." "Bridge... It's Cali... You're the one who's studying to be a Geologist or some other -ogist so you should know they're on a fault line." "I know they're on a fault line. It's just... I thought they'd be more freaked out over it." They walked into Starbucks and ordered what they wanted. When they got their coffee, Rachel picked out a table by the window and that's where her and Bridget went to sit. As they were drinking their coffees, Bridget started going on and on about something to do with how they could go to the concert in New York in October but Rachel wasn't listening because she had completely blocked her out since the minute the guy of Rachel's dream walked into Starbucks. Bridget looked at her sister, waved her hand in front of Rachel's face and said "Hello? Earth to Rach... Are you in there 'Oh Royal Bitchness'?" "Shut up Bridget." Rachel got up, left her coffee on the table and walked over to the counter. Bridget turned around in her seat to see where Rachel went just as Rachel tapped a guy on the shoulder. The guy turned around and Rachel said "Excuse me but you look a lot like Mike..." The guy finished her sentence by saying "Dirnt..." "Yeah." He pushed his sunglasses down a little on his nose and said "Well maybe that's cause I am him." "Oh my God! You're like my idol... You're my favorite guy from Green Day!" "Can you keep your voice down... I don't want anyone to notice me cause of the concert being canceled." "Oh sorry." "It's okay... Are you a fan of Green Day who's about to yell at me over the concert?" "No... I'm a fan of yours. I just wanted to know if it was really you." Mike took his coffee from the server and held out his hand to Rachel. "Mike Dirnt. Nice to meet Ya." Rachel shook it and said "Rachel Sawyer. Nice to meet you too." "Do you want a coffee and we can sit and talk?" "Oh I already have one... I'm here with my sister..." Rachel pointed over to Bridget and said "You can join us if you want." "Sure."
Rachel and Mike walked over to the table and Mike pulled a chair over to the table since there was only two chairs there. He took off his sunglasses and Bridget said "Oh my God Rachel it's Mike!" Rachel covered Bridget's mouth and said "Bee I know... And shut up don't get him noticed. Mike this is my sister Bridget. Bee you know who he is." Rachel took her hand away from Bridget's mouth and Bridget said "Hi Mike." Mike smiled at Rachel who was shaking her head and said "Hi Bridget." "What brings you to Starbucks?" "I needed coffee... Tre was driving me crazy back at the hotel." "Oh my God... Tre as in Tre Cool?" Mike laughed and said "The one and only." Then Rachel joined the conversation and said "Bridget's obsessed with Tre." "I am not." "Are too." Mike laughed at the two sisters and said "So you guys were here for the concert." Rachel nodded then said "Yeah we came here with our friends Nicole and Isabelle for it." "Where are they?" "Back at the hotel." Mike drank the rest of his coffee and said "Do you to wanna go get them and we can all hang out with Billie, Adrienne, Tre and Claudia?" Bridget looked confused and said "Who's Claudia?" "Tre's wife... They got married last October." "Oh..." Mike looked at Rachel and said "So do you?" "I will but looks like Bridget just fell off Cloud 9 so we might as well forget about her and the other two." "If you say so... Older is knows best I guess." "How'd you know I was older?" "I guessed... So how old are you Rachel?" "23... I'll be 24 in October." "Cool... You two ready to go?" Rachel and Bridget nodded and the three left Starbucks.
When they got back to the hotel, Mike said "Well this is convenient... You guys are staying at the same hotel as us." "Really? Wow... Cool." Mike, Rachel and Bridget got on the elevator and went to the 5th floor otherwise known as Rachel and Bridget's floor. When the three got to the room the four girls were sharing Rachel introduced Nicole and Isabelle to Mike then told him she'd be right back and went to change. 5 minutes later, Rachel came out of her room and was wearing favorite pair of blue jeans and a pink halter top that showed off her C cup size chest perfectly. Mike stood there for a second smiling then said "You ready to go meet everyone?" "Uh... Yeah... Sure..." Rachel picked up her purse off the table and said "I'll be back later." And just as her and Mike were walking out of the room Bridget yelled back "Don't worry we won't wait up," which made Rachel give her majority annoying sister the finger.
By the time Rachel caught up to Mike he was at the elevator waiting for the doors to open. When the doors did finally open Rachel and Mike walked in and he pressed the button for the 14th floor. "My God that's high up." "Yeah... It's pretty high just don't go out on the balcony if you're afraid of heights." "I'm not it's just first times in high places somewhat scare me." "I see..." Mike looked at the screen above the door and it only said 7 so he went on by saying "Listen Tre and Billie will ask you a bunch of questions and Adie and Claudia probably will too so I might as well get this over with before they start going on... Um... Are you single?" "Yeah... Why?" "Do you wanna go out?" "Like date?" "Well, yeah..." "Sure." "Okay... And by the way Tre may approach you and ask if you're a crazy screaming fan but just laugh it off and say you like our music." "Okay." They reached the 14th floor and Mike put his arm around Rachel's shoulder.
As the newly formed couple walked down the hall, Rachel looked up at Mike and said "I thought you were married." "I was... Me and Brittany got a divorce in March. And before that of course it was Anastasia then Sarah... But they didn't work out." "Oh... So what's your daughter like?" "Stella... She's great. She's started grade 1 a couple of days ago." "Wow... Grade 1. She must've been excited." "Yeah... She was grinning from ear to ear when me and Annie took her the first day." They stopped at the door for the guys' suite and Mike opened the door just as he said "Welcome to my world." Mike and Rachel walked into the suite and were greeted by Tre and Billie playing on the PS2 in the living room. Mike took Rachel's hand and they walked into the living room. "Hey guys..." Billie and Tre looked up from the game and Tre said "Who's that Mikey?" "This is Rachel..." Before Mike could finish his sentence Billie looked at Rachel and said "You're dating Mike aren't you?" Rachel nodded just as Adrienne and Claudia came into the room. The Green Day wives walked over to their husbands and Mike said "Adie, Claude... This is Rachel my new girlfriend." Adrienne held out her hand and Rachel shook it just as Adrienne said "I'm Adrienne. Billie's wife." Then Rachel and Claudia shook hands as Claudia introduced herself.
An hour later, Mike, Rachel, Billie, Adrienne, Tre, and Claudia were all out for a night a clubbing. Around 2 am, the 6 made their way back to their rooms at the hotel. The next morning, Rachel was woken up to Bridget shaking her to get up.
