It Started Out With Coffee At Starbucks, chapter 30

Rachel sighed then whispered, "I don't know what to do."

Mike ran his hands through Rachel's hair, kissed her temple, then whispered, "You don't have to make a decision now, but we do have to tell Billie you didn't go through with it-"

"And get him to tell Adie."

Mike nuzzled his head into Rachel's neck and nodded gently.

Rachel sighed. "This is my worst nightmare."

Mike kissed her neck then said, "I know."

Rachel crawled out of Mike's lap, sat next to him. "Will you go call Billie and Adie and tell them to come over?"

"Sure babe."

Mike walked out of the room and as Rachel heard his footsteps make their way downstairs, she placed her right hand onto her stomach. "You're gonna be blessed with having two rockstar fathers little one."

Two hours later, Rachel, Mike, Billie and Adrienne were sitting around the kitchen table discussing the prospects of the newest Armstrong child being born.

Adrienne was less than eager about the news, but it made Billie happy to be having another child since they had been trying to concieve with no success.

Billie was ecstatic that Rachel had not gone through with the abortion, and was now happily placing a hand to her belly every so often.

Two months later, Rachel was now definately showing signs of her pregnancy, Billie and Mike were looking out for her, and Adrienne was still her best friend.

It was July 15th, and that day Rachel had a doctor's appointment since she was nearing her five month mark.

At this appointment, she would find of the sex of the baby.

Since Billie wanted to be there quite badly, Mike graciously bowed out from going along in order to let the biological father of his wife's baby go with her.

As Rachel and Billie approached the door of the doctor's office building, Billie wrapped his arm around Rachel's waist, kissed her temple and said, "You excited doll, to find out what we're having?"

Rachel slid out of Billie's grip. "Don't show any affection to me in public. Don't kiss me anywhere because, I have a husband to do that. Don't call me doll because, Mike does. And we're just the parents of this child, we also have spouses that care about us. You have a wife of fourteen years. And I have a husband of four. We don't need the press seeing us canoodling like we have been. It would ruin your CD and my modeling career."

"Okay Rach, fuck, I'm the father of that baby..." Billie pointed at Rachel's belly then said "And I want to show you god damn affection since you concieved it."

Rachel wrapped her arms around Billie's neck, hugged him. "I'm sorry Billie. You know my hormones are all over the place."

"It's okay. C'mon we've got less than five minutes till your appointment."

When Bille and Rachel reached the third floor, Rachel was led into an exam room with Billie following her.

The appointment went smoothly, and Rachel learned she was having a girl and so far she was quite healthy.

An hour or so later, Rachel and Billie arrived at Billie and Adrienne's house, and told Mike, who had been waiting there for Rachel, and Adrienne, the news.

As the next few weeks passed, Rachel felt the baby kick for the first time, Green Day played some shows around the States, and Rachel and Adrienne began to buy things for the baby to wear as well as, things for the nurseries.

Soon it was the 1st of September, and Brittney's due date.

Right on schedule at 8:30 a.m., she went into labour, and Mike rushed to her apartment and brought her to the hospital, leaving Rachel at home with all of their kids.

Since it was a Saturday, there was no way she would be free of any of them, especially since Estelle was grounded and Abby's best friend was sick.

That afternoon, Brittney gave birth to the triplets.

Just as predicted, it was two girls and a boy.

And her and Mike decided to name them Alexandra Marie, Jayde Elizabeth, and Patrick James.

Late that evening, after a long tiring day, Mike returned to his and Rachel's home, eager to see his wife and show her the pictures of the newest Pritchard children.

When he walked into the darkened house, he turned on the hall light and made his way into the living room in order to turn off the television.

When he fully walked in, he saw Rachel and Billie curled up together on the couch, asleep. Mike frowned at the sight, but decided to leave them, in order to not make Rachel cranky because of being woken up.

He turned off the tv, and made his way up the stairs.

He opened Abby's door, and saw his stepdaughter peacefully asleep. He opened the next door, Leilah's, and found her peacefully asleep. He stepped across the hall and opened that door, Mikey and Sam's, and found them both peacefully asleep. He opened the next door, and found Estelle still awake, sitting up on her bed, writing in her journal with one of her mix cd's lightly playing from her stereo.

"Hey hero."

Estelle looked up, mumbled, "Hi dad," and looked back down to her journal.

"Shouldn't you be asleep?"
"Nahh...it's only two. I can go a few more hours. It's not like I have school tomorrow."

"I don't want to drag you outta bed to come see your newest brother and sisters."

"If I'm not up when you leave, I'll just see them some other day."

Estelle got off of the bed, walked over to the stereo and switched the CD to Move Along by The All-American Rejects.

"Is everything okay Stella?"

Estelle was silent for a minute or so, then Mike heard her sniff and she quickly raised her hands a wiped her face.

"Uh huh..."

Mike walked over to his oldest daughter and turned her around to look at him, to find she was crying.

"Hero, what's wrong?"

"You're gonna leave Rachel. Her and Billie were talking about it earlier once they put Leilah and Mikey and Samy to bed. You're gonna leave her for Brittney because of the triplets. Dad, everyone knows that. Everyone knows that you and Rachel don't love each other as much anymore. Everyone knows you two don't get along like you did before Leilah and Mikey were even born. She's the best stepmom I've ever had, and she's stuck around the longest. Through thick and thin, she's stayed with you. Now, you're gonna go back to Britt and I'm gonna wish I still lived with mom. I hate Brittney, I always did. She thinks she's being a good stepmom, but she really isn't. I just want you to stay with Rachel. I want Rachel to be my stepmom, not anyone else."

Mike pulled her into a hug and whispered, "I'm not gonna leave Rachel."

As Estelle broke down crying, Mike said, "Hero, I love Rachel. And even the triplets couldn't change that, even her's and Billie's baby couldn't change that. Now, do you wanna see pictures of your brother and sisters?"

Estelle nodded and got out of Mike's grasp.

She walked over to her bed, sat down, grabbed tissues from the box on her nightstand and as she dabbed at her eyes, Mike came and sat next to her.

An hour later, Mike was in his own bed, and finally drifted off to sleep.

As the next few days progressed, Mike spent a lot of time with Brittney at the hospital and Rachel spent most of her time trying to pick a baby name.

On the 5th, Brittney, and the triplets got to go home. And luckily, Brittney had turned down the job so now, there would be no sudden move for them anytime soon.

Two months later, it was November 5th, and Rachel was entering her 38th week of pregnancy.

As her, Mike, Adrienne, and Billie sat in Rudy's, that afternoon, she felt a powerful kick from inside her belly and grabbed Billie's hand, since he was next to her, and placed it to the belly so he could feel it. Billie felt another kick and looked at Rachel adoringly, smiled then said "Is she ever gonna be a great soccer player..." Rachel smiled then said "Or football kicker. The first in the NFL."

Billie laughed then said "We'll leave the football to her brothers."

Rachel nodded then as their food was placed in front of them, Adrienne said "So, have you decided a name Rach? Or is it gonna be a quick pick?"

"I have a few in mind..."

Billie looked at her and said, "Really?"

Mike laughed and said "She's had her nose stuck in the name book every night for the past three months."

"Well, I want to make sure I pick the perfect name, this being my last child and all..."

Mike looked up and said, "What?"

"This is my last baby. No more children will be born from me. I'm gonna focus on my four, well, five I'll have and my career."

"But you said you wanted a big family..."

"Which I have now. There's Abby, Leilah, Mikey, Sam, this little girl, and Estelle...And well gosh, I guess I should include Lexi, Jayde and Pat too. Because they are my stepkids."

Mike looked at Rachel with a pained expression on his face then focused his attention back to the salad on his plate.

Nearly a week later, it was the 10th, and Mike was gone for his visit to see the triplets, Estelle, Abby, Leilah, and Mikey were all gone to school and Sam was gone to preschool, and Rachel was home alone, playing solitaire on the computer in Mike's office, when she felt a sharp pain that she knew was a contraction.

She picked up the phone, and quickly dialed the number of Billie's cell.

On the third ring, he answered the call with a hello.

"Billie...it's time."

"What?!"

"I just felt a contraction."

"The baby's coming? Now?"

Rachel giggled then said "Yes Billie Joe, now."

"Okay, I'll uh, be there in a few minutes. Is your bag packed? Where are you at? Did your water break yet?"

"My bag's by the door, it has been for two weeks. I'm in Mike's office. And no, my water has not broken yet."

"Okay, just breath, and I'll be there before you know it."

"Okay."

"Alright. Love ya doll."

Rachel heard the dial tone signifying that Billie had hung up and then she whispered, "I love you too."

Ten minutes later, Rachel's contractions were about six minutes apart she could guess, when Billie ran into the office and rushed over to her.

He helped her up and said "How you doing? Okay? Water break yet? How far apart are the contractions?"

"I'm fine. This is my fourth time around I know the deal. No, it's still unbroken. And about six minutes."

"Okay, that's good."

He helped her out to the car, that was still running, and then they drove to the hospital.
