It Started Out With Coffee At Starbucks, chapter 7
Rachel got Abby's car seat out of her mother's car and put it in the SUV and Mike buckled Abby in. Mike and Rachel got in the front seat and left for Much Music.
On the way there, Rachel looked at Mike and said "What time are you guys out?" "Uh...Well we have an interview with Hannah at 2 and Green Day-O-Matic starts at 5. So we can go grab something to eat in between them." "Okay."
"Then we'll be done by 6:30." Rachel nodded and they pulled up in front of a hotel in the city. "Why are we here?" "It's 1 and Billie wanted us to meet them here." "Oh okay then."
Mike climbed out of the car and got Abby out and Rachel got out. They walked into the hotel's lobby and went to the front desk. After Mike talked to the person there for a few minutes, he found out what Billie's room number was and they went to the elevator.
Once on the 8th floor, they went to Billie's room. Mike handed Abby to Rachel and knocked. A minute later, they heard Adrienne call out one second the they heard the locks being undone and the door opened. Adrienne let them in and yelled to Billie. A minute or so later, he came out of the bedroom and Mike introduced them to Abby.
About 10 minutes later, they went to Tre and Claudia's room and after introducing them to Abby the seven left for Much Music. With 15 minutes till their interview with Hannah, the guys, Adrienne, Claudia, Rachel, and Abby entered the building Much Music was in.
At 2, the guys started the interview and answered a lot of questions. An hour and a half later, Mike, Billie, and Tre walked out of the room the interview was in. They walked over to the girls and they all left to grab some lunch before the show. At 4:30, they got back to Much and the guys were taking to get make-up touch ups.
At 5, Green Day-O-Matic started and halfway through the show a person in the audience asked the question Mike had been waiting for all day. "How have your lives changed since American Idiot came out?" Billie went first. "Well, me and wife have spent less time together which isn't so good but now Adie's on tour with me and our sons are coming out in October. So, my life hasn't changed too much. I'm pretty much just getting used to touring again. Tre?" "While we were in the pre-recording stage for the CD I got married. I love being married again. It's fun. Love you Claude." The camera turned around to the girls as Tre waved to Claudia and she waved back.
Matte looked at Mike and said "How about you Mike? I know Tre and Billie both have their wives here today but who's the beautiful brunette with them? Is she with you?" Mike smiled and said "Yeah she is. So, in saying that I guess my answer to that question about our lives changing since American Idiot, is that I met my girlfriend Rachel who I love a lot. We've been dating three months now." Rachel and Mike smiled at each other and they showed Rachel on camera. The camera turned back to Matte and the guys as Matte said "How'd you and Rachel meet, Mike?" "Well me and the guys did the club tour back in June and I met her at the one in New York." "Nice. Well it's great to hear the three of you are happy now. And now an older video from Green Day. Here's Longview off of Dookie."
An hour later at 6:30, Mike, Rachel, and Abby left the hotel after saying goodbye to Billie, Adrienne, Tre, and Claudia. From there they went to the mall. After going shopping in Steve Madden, American Eagle, Bluenotes, and Dynamite, Mike took bags out to the SUV while Rachel brought Abby to the Disney Store. 5 minutes later, Mike joined his girlfriend and her daughter in the Disney Store and an hour later, they left after spending almost a thousand dollars on stuff for Abby and even a few things Rachel wanted. Mike put the Disney Store bags into the back of the car with the rest of Rachel's bags as Rachel buckled a sleepy Abby into her seat and climbed into the front seat.
5 minutes later, they were on their way back to Rachel's parents house. When Mike put the SUV in park in the driveway, he turned around in his seat and said "Guess who's asleep?" Rachel looked back at Abby and said "I could make a guess." "She looks exactly like a mini copy of you." "Just think of how cute she'll been in 20 years then." Mike laughed and said "How about we bring her and the bags in then go pick you up some new suitcases to pack up your stuff in." "I can deal with my suitcases." "Trust me... When you see the luggage you can get tonight you won't be thinking that." "Whatever you say."
Rachel and Mike climbed out of the SUV, Mike got Abby out and Rachel grabbed a few bags. Then when they got inside, Kyle was sent out to get the rest of the bags. After putting Abby to bed in her room and putting the bags from shopping in Rachel's, Mike and Rachel left again and drove to the surprise destination. 2 minutes from where they were going, Mike told Rachel to close her eyes. She did and they pulled up in front of the store.
Mike jumped out and went around to Rachel's side. He opened the door and said "Rach... Give me your hand but don't open your eyes." "Okay." Mike took Rachel's hand in his and helped her out of the car. After closing the door, Mike let go of Rachel's hand and said "You can open your eyes now."
Rachel opened them and looked up to see the Louis Vuitton sign and store. "Oh-my-fucking-god! I get Louis Vuitton! Mike thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Rachel hugged Mike and he said "C'mon let's go get you some stuff." They walked into the store and a worker walked over to them. "How may I help you?" Mike looked at the woman and said "I'd like to close the store from now until closing time." "But sir, that's in 2 hours. It's 9 right now and we have many people in the store at the moment." "You don't understand. I'm Mike Dirnt, the bassist from Green Day, and my girlfriend would like to purchase some things so I'll tell you again. I'd like to close the store for the next 2 hours." The worker walked away and Rachel looked up at Mike then said "I can shop around people. I don't mind." "Rachel... The bonus to me being me is that you can close a store whenever you want and shop for as long as you like. Adrienne and Claudia closed a Sephora store in L.A. for 4 hours last month. "Due to the request of a high-status shopper, the store will be closing now and will re-open tomorrow morning at our regular time. Rachel smiled at Mike and he smiled back as they walked further into the store and every other shopper in the store left. Soon, they had made their way around the huge store and Rachel was now pointing out things she wanted and Mike had his brand new Visa card out ready to be used. Around 10:30, Rachel was still trying to pick out a few things and Mike was at the counter playing with the shoulder strap on what was to be Rachel's new Keepall 55 in Monogram Canvas, but he was also admiring the fact of how much Rachel loved to just look at designer stuff and even not buy it.
At 11:30, a satisfied Rachel and worn-out Mike walked out of the Louis Vuitton store. Rachel was carrying two bags, one had three new purses in it for her and the second had matching wallets and other accessories in it, Mike was carrying the Keepall 55 that he had begun to like as well as Rachel's Keepall 60 and Pegase 50, then one worker from the store had to bring out Rachel's Pegase 70, Trolley 50 Bosphore, and Trouville. At midnight, Mike and Rachel walked through the front door to the house and brought Rachel's new belongings to her room.
Mike sat on the end of the bed with the remote and turned on TSN in time to watch a re-run of that year's Superbowl game. He smiled and said "Can I watch some football?" "You don't need to ask... Besides I need to pack. At least start packing." Rachel picked up her Trolley 50 Bosphore, put it on the bed and unzipped the big part. She walked over to her closet, opened its doors and grabbed a bunch of hangers in her arms. She carried the over to the bed and threw them on it. As Rachel packed her clothes to take on the tour until October, Mike sat on the bed watching the football game occasionally talking to Rachel and answering her questions.
Two days later, all of Abby's and Rachel's things that were going to California were packed up and Mike and Rachel took them and got them shipped to Anastasia. That night, Abby helped Rachel the best she could to pack up her things for the tour then once Abby was in bed, Rachel went downstairs to find Mike sitting on the couch talking to Kyle about Green Day.
An hour later, it was about 8:30 and Rachel and Mike went out to go see a movie to get out of the house. When they got back from seeing House of Wax, it was around 11:30, so Mike and Rachel went straight upstairs because all of the lights on the first level were off. When they got into Rachel's room, Rachel sat on the bed and said "I'm gonna miss Toronto." "We can come visit your family every couple of months. It's easy to see mine cause they're all in Cali but we'll come visit your's. I swear."
Mike walked over to Rachel and hugged her. Rachel put her arms around Mike's neck and kissed him. "One last time in your childhood bedroom?" Rachel laughed at Mike's comment then nodded. Mike picked Rachel up enough so that her feet weren't touching the ground and sat her on the bed. Clothes were quickly ripped off and Mike and Rachel were having amazing hot sex.
The next morning around 11, Abby ran in Rachel's room and over to the bed. Abby shook Rachel awake and when her mother opened her eyes, Abby looked at her and said "Mommy that Billie guy is here wif other people." "Okay baby go tell them we'll be down soon." Abby nodded and ran out of the room.
Rachel rolled over and managed to wake Mike up by just tapping him. 20 minutes later, Rachel and Mike made their way downstairs to find Abby with Claudia and Adrienne.
After saying goodbye, Mike, Billie, and Tre brought the bags out Mike's SUV while Rachel, Abby, Adrienne, and Claudia took their time leaving. Soon, they were on their way to the airport and in just a few hours would be landing in Miami.
