Secret Affairs, chapter 9
" Hey, what the hell is going on?" Billie Joe said in a daze.
" Tom's an asshole, that's what's going on!" Mike yelled.
" Why, what's happened?"
" Tom phoned Tre today threatning to batter the girls if we ever go near Tom again"
" Right that is it, come on Mike we're going to Tom's place, are you coming Tre?"
" No, he's not and neither are you Billie Joe" Emma said sternly.
"Tre said Tom said that if we touch him again, then me and Carly would get battered and especially Laura as she's your girlfriend, you don't want Laura getting battered now do you Billie Joe?" Emma said.
" Of course not, but what are we gonna do?"
Carly walked out of the bathroom in a towel, Mike just stared and then Tre caught him looking and then he looked at the ground. Tre burst out laughing.
" Aren't i allowed to look at my own girlfriend?" Mike said laughing.
Billie Joe, Laura and Emma weren't laughing though.
" What's wrong with you three?" Carly said confused.
So, Billie Joe explained the phone call with Tom, and Carly looked very scared.
" We should call the police" Carly said.
" No we can't or that'll just make Tom madder." Tre said his words slurred.
" Ok then but how are we going to go to school knowing that he'll be waiting there for us and that he could hurt anyone of us at any time?" Laura said very concerned.
" Don't worry me, Billie Joe and Tre will make sure that nothing ever happens to you three, isn't nthat right?" Mike said
" Yeah!" both Billie Joe and Tre said.
Next day at school Billie Joe and Laura have got music, Billie Joe is very worried about this as Tom is in his class. Inside the classroom Tom is standing there waiting for them. Billie Joe walks straight past him holding Laura's hand tightly.
" I'm just away to go out and get some new strings from the other room will you be ok here on your own?" asked Billie Joe.
" yeah sure, i'll be fine"
Billie Joe left the room and Tom turned in Laura's direction.
" What's your problem?" Laura asked.
" You're the one that's going to have a problem"
Tom marched up to Laura and punched her in the face forcing her to fall.
" Billie Joe!" Laura screamed.
Billie Joe ran in with the teacher behind him.
" What's going on here? Tom, did you do this?" the teacher asked.
Tom was sent to the head teacher's office and was later expelled.
