Just leave me alone, chapter 4
Everybody in the class turned in their seats to face Emily, with looks of confusion on their faces. What did they want to talk to her about? Was it something good or bad? Every one was intrigued to find out.
Emily slowly stood up and walked to the teacher, her hands shaking and her knees trembling.
"I think it's best if we talk outside." The teacher said slowly and with care.
"O...ok" Emily said with a shaky voice
As she walked outside, she glanced sideways at the rest of the class, who were all glaring back at her, wishing they could find out what's wrong.
When they were outside, John was there waiting for her.
"John! What are you doing here?" Emily said with a worried tone in her voice. John should be working, what's he doing here?
"Emily............. Something happened last night.............. Something bad" He chose his words very carefully and took sometime preparing what he was about to say next. "Mum didn't come home last night hunny and............." At this point a tear ran down his chubby cheek, and his eyes were starting to get puffy and red. He couldn't continue with what he was saying.
Emily didn't notice an officer standing to the side of her. He walked over to John and placed a hand upon his back to comfort him, and he continued to say what John had left off.
Emily's heart was racing and the palms of her hands were sweaty.
"Oh God! What's happened? Where's mum? Just tell me please!" she screamed towards the officer, as tears were welling up in her eyes.
The officer placed a hand upon Emily's shoulder and looked down into her eyes.
"Emily dear..," He paused to sigh, " Your mother was involved in a car crash last night..........the ambulance was called and they did all they could do.............. But she was pronounced dead at the scene."
