Food Service and Green Day, chapter 2
Cassandra counted out the money in her hand." One, two, three.. Airfare ticket to Japan, four, five, six, pass, seven, eight.. Nine.. That's more than I get payed in one shift. Wait.. An airfare ticket and an all acess pass?"
She looked again and grinned.
"Fuck you food service junkies, I'm outta here. I'm going to Japan."
------
-Saturday-
-At the airport-
"Where the hell did my ticket go? I had it on Friday.. Wait, don't tell me you guys had it again?" Rob said, rummaging through his pockets.
Tre grinned sheepishly." I stuck all of our tickets in Billie's wallet.. For safekeeping, ya know.. But there wasn't enough room by the credit cards so I had to stick one in with the money we had left.. And I did the same with the all acess
Pass.."
Billie pulled out his wallet and leafed through it." We're missing an all acess pass also."
---
"Flight 971 for Tokyo is now boarding,"
Humming Deadbeat Holiday and clutching a small carry-on bag and walkman, Cassandra squeezed herself in amongst the many people that were desperately trying to get inside.
"How am I supposed to get in, we're one ticket short!" Rob hissed.
"Just be casual," Tre said." And if you have to, take some stuff out of on of our suitcases and climb in."
Billie gripped the handle of his suitcase a little tighter.
"Don't worry Bill, I'm sure Rob won't get in the way of your hair products." Mike joked.
"Shut up Mike. Rob can get in his own suitcase and I'll carry it." Billie retorted, just as the line began to move up.
-----
They forced themselves through the metal detector, holding out their tickets, except for Rob, who was safe inside the suitcase Billie had insisted to carry along with him.
A man standing at the other side took their tickets and gave Billie's suitcase an odd look. Obviously Rob was muttering something incoherent. Billie kicked the suitcase in the side and grinned nervously at the man, who was scowling at him.
"Cd player.. Damned thing turns it self on.." Billie said, staring at his feet and then ushering the group down to where the plane was boarding.
----
"Are we there yet?"
"No Tre, we aren't even out of America yet."
"Man.. Are we there now?"
"No we aren't," Mike said sighing." Don't you have anything better to do than bug me and Billie while those two are sleeping peacefully?" He pointed towards Jason and Rob, who were snoring in the same seat two seats away.
"My point being." Said Billie.
In the seat just behind our fellow punk rockers, Cassandra sat, tapping a pair of wooden drumsticks against the seat in front of her boredly to the tune of American Idiot. She had found them by rummaging through whoever was in front of her's suitcase.
Tre turned around, seeing Cassandra drum on the seat." Hey! It's my job to be annoying here! And you need more skill on your drumming.. You're holding the sticks wrong. Hey! Those are my sticks!"
Cassandra laughed and handed them over." Sorry, couldn't resist." She then put on her headphones, switched on her walkman and began to rock her head back in forth with the music, not even noticing that Tre Cool was sitting in front of her for the second time in her life.
She looked again and grinned.
